go to sema, thats the real car show
HIN and SEMA cannot be compared. They are two different colors on a spectrum.
For those who don't have a show car on display, do you attend these shows on a regular basis? There was a HIN (Hot Import Nights) in my area recently and I wanted to go. The only time I've been to one was in 2000 when the scene was nearing the mainstream, pre-The Fast and the Furious. Seeing throngs of guys crowd around one girl with their video cams raised high in the air left and right reminded me of monkeys quarreling over one banana, to put it bluntly.
And for those who do have a show car... if you
didn't have a show car, would you still go?
I hate being a tourist walking around or waiting in lines in general. That's why I don't feel compelled to attend these or other types of non-car related conventions. Guess HIN just doesn't do it for me. Viewing pics of the events online is good enough.

Id still go if I didnt have a show car. Its a fun place to get with your friends and get drunk

As long as I don't have to pay admission.
