gosh, I love vball : D
i play middle/blocker on my high school junior team~
probably its probably cause I'm tall (5'5)
I can bump and set properly, just my spikes are a bit off x)
and my overhand, is fluke : (
our team didn't go far, but we had a great season imo ~

QUOTE (sshu1yah @ Oct 9 2005, 02:45 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
volleyball is sucha fun game, absolutely love it!

I LOVE PLAYING AND COMPETING IN VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENTS. I DOESN'T MATTER IF IT'S JUST TWO OF US IN THE COURT OR MORE. I PLAYED SINCE I COULD REMEMBER (5TH GRADE). I PLAYED FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL THEN IN HIGH SCHOOL. THEN I WENT ON TO PLAY FOR HIGH SCHOOL OLYMPICS. THEN AFTER GRADUATION, I STILL PLAYED VOLLEYBALL WITH ASIAN TEAMS FOR SMALL PARK TOURNAMENTS. I LOVE THIS SPORT!!!

WHEN I THINK ABOUT IT, ANYONE CAN STOP PLAYING WHAT THEY LOVE... BUT I STILL CONTINUE PLAYING VOLLEYBALL BECAUSE IT HELPS ME STAY IN SHAPE AND IT RELEASES STRESS (I HAVE A FAMILY NOW).

SINCE I HAD MY KID, I STOPPED PLAYING FOR QUITE A WHILE (9 MONTHS +) AND WHEN I STARTED BACK EXERCISING AND HOPPED IN THE COURT, I THOUGHT I HAD LOST MY TALENT AND ALL.. BUT I STILL GOT IT. I CAN'T BELIEVE HOW THE MIND WOULD FOOL THE BODY. I MEAN ONCE YOU HAVE YOUR TALENT, IT'LL ALWAYS COME BACK (WITH PRACTICE I MEAN). WELL ANYWAYS, IT'S NICE TO SEE EVERYONE HERE LOVE THIS SPORT AS MUCH AS I DO.

I play Vball. I used to play club too but dropped out. I just play on my school team now.

Question: On your approach for a spike (for a right handed spiker) is it left, right, jump or right, left, jump?

i love vball too but i'm never good enough to get on a club team or anything like it, despite the fact i can serve and spike relatively well. Plus I have a 36" vertical ): Anyone from the SJ area have a team and need a player let me know! heh

one of my favorite sports. EVER. who's following college vball?

i played for a year in high school as ace. then i got too busy so had to quit. it was a very sad day. lol

i started playing again.. just for fun w/ friends and stuff... BOY am i out of shape. i can't jump anymore! ): one of my japanese friends played vball in high school (in japan).. and her team was like the national champions or something. she's sooo good. she's an all around player. but then she jacked up her shoulder so she doesn't go all out and yet she's still good! crazy.

wooot. volleyball!~ (: best sport ever. i love everything about it. haha usually in sports, people have a position they hate.. but that's not the case for me. every position in volleyball is love <3 LOL. I play setter. Woot. I'm too short to block. Boo. I wish I could play club, but it's so darn pricey. It's like $800. O_o" Should've started club when I was younger.

I honestly do not know whether I'm good or not o___o
like..I haven't seriously played vball competitively before.
but I figured I can't really suck that bad -.-;;
and I'm 5'11"..which kind of helps I guess..

I'm still kind of thinking about it though.

I'm taking a volleyball class right now. I have some problems hitting the ball because of my natural pitching motion from playing baseball for nearly my whole youth. I keep dropping my shoulder thinking I'm throwing a fastball making the ball stay up instead of go down. Also, everytime I go for a slam after a set, I'm thinking about getting a rebound for basketball! So my timing for jumping tends to be off a lot. Overall, it's a fun sport.

Oh yeah whatsup with that "lift" call, if I'm diving for the ball and I hit it with my palm that's not lifting! Stupid rules...
