recently i had my first operation ever and got a few stitches on my neck. its in a really noticeable position and im dreading the scar that will be left behind. added to that, my graduation party is coming soon! does anyone have any cream, natural remedies or other recommendations that will help to fade it? coz i know scars are permanent.

from my research so far, i gather:

-vitamin e is an old wives' tale- its not good for scars. (from miami university research i think)
-dont leave scars open or "to breathe"- it will delay healing by up to 50%.

and bascially, im clueless. i know there are scar creams out there though... and surgery isnt an option for me (yet).

well i've had a few operations and my surgeon always tells me to apply vaseline.
my brother's friend who is also a surgeon also says to use vitamin e oil, so idk if that's an old wives tale.

Oh Wow, I read that recent studies show that vitamin e and Vaseline are actually really bad for scars (actually makes them more noticeable by stimulating collagen growth) and that you should NOT use them!!! ohmy.gif
