I was wondering.. if they would be legitimate even if they are made in China?
I used to have a 2gb one made in Japan, but after someone lost it for me, I'm trying to buy them off eBay. They tend to be made in China though. I want the real ones, so I just want to check they are authentic Sony stuff.

There's a 50/50 chance that it'll be real from China. Probably more like 20/80 chance.

Click on these links. They show you pictures between the reals and fakes. You could probably ask the seller to send you a real picture.

You should also check the feedback of the sellers to see if the majority of their customers are happy, although...Most people can't tell what is authentic or not, so yeah...Read feedback comments.

oh man this happened to me, i bought a memory stick on ebay and poof it's a fake and of course the seller is non responsive and banned off ebay so i can't do anything and no refund

uhhh...you know that most everything is made in china don't you?
even the SONY one's are probably made in china.

also, SONY's not the only one that makes those.
when i bought my PSP, in JAPAN, the lady asked if i wanted a memory card too.
i said "ok" and got a SanDisk memory card (512mb) which was made in china.

if you're not sure, buy it at the store...there's not really any reason to buy it online...unless you have no electronics stores in your area.

don't buy off ebay, majority are fake. also go for SanDisk, its cheaper than Sony and faster, but sometimes Sony ones have longer warranty. i got 5 year warranty on mine.
