Hoffman plays Andy, a businessman who is in desperate need of money. He convinces his brother Hank (Hawke) to rob their parents' jewelry store so they can split the money they know is in the safe. Hawke, in turn, hires an acquaintance to help him in the robbery. When the heist goes off, the plan goes awry as the accomplice is killed and the mother (played by Harris) is mortally wounded. Hank and Andy, along with his wife Gina (Tomei), now have to deal with the repercussions of the botched crime as their father swears vengeance on the culprits.

I'm seeing this in a few weeks at the Virginia film festival. Definitely looking foward to it. I honestly don't know too much about it, but Philip Seymour Hoffman is in it, which means I have to see it.

Anyway, I just saw it. I Loved it. Phillip was amazing in it. He's a great actor, and to think most people only found out about him after Capote..

I think it goes wide at the end of the month, so if any of you want to see an excellent intense drama with great performances and a naked Marisa Tomei (and Phillip Seymour Hoffman- for you ladies!) then I'd recommend it.

LOL, YAY! for simplistic plot lines that make for by-the-numbers crime thrillers. Oh, what joy they bring to me.

Anyway, I really liked this film. Hawke and the supporting cast are really great in it, but I feel like I just can't praise Hoffman enough. He's one of the best actors working today.
