Hey guys!
I'm currently in my third year in a private university here in Iloilo City, Philippines, taking up Interior Design.
I couldn't say much about what I've learned so far because I'm only a part of the second batch of ID students in the university.
The program started a year before I got there so it's quite experimental still, although we have our first senior batch this year.
I'd just like to ask other students of Interior Design throughout Asia what studying this course has been like?
Mine has been good. I've learned quite a lot, regarding design principles, history, etc. But I feel like it's lacking something.
Have you taken up topics on green architecture? or green interior design? And also regarding other topics.
What can you guys share with us here?
By the way, we do need help in improving our curriculum. Our minor subjects have gotten in the way of our major subjects.
Our concentration have been divided between subjects that we feel are irrelevant to our course.
A wee bit of help, please?
Thanks so much!

PS. How has the board examinations been in your country?
I'm a bit worried about taking mine in a few years. I don't feel like we've been supplied the right amount of information for the exams. Maybe it's just me. I don't really know.

Are you from Central Philippine University? If I can remember it right, only CPU are offering interior design courses. Anyway, Green Interior Design is the most talked trend in the design industry. Interior design is not a just a profession per see. You need to have a full heart dedication during your studies. Apparently, the demand in the field of interior design are growing constantly where in only the well established Colleges/University are offering the the design courses. I think Iloilo City has competitive interior design school.

With regards to curriculum, I think the school administration with the supervision of Commission on Higher Education (Phil) are responsible on that. Since, the kind of education from other countries might not be applicable locally. The interior design exam is really hard. But thanks to the internet, interior design students can now have reading materials available online.

For more information about your course visit interior design courses at http://www.schoolofinteriordesign.org/
