Yeah, FF > IE definitely. I used to get so many virus/spyware/bug things because of IE. Grr. <3 FF.

Firefox, FTW!!! Pop-ups </3. But yah, it's kinda irritating when pages don't display properly. HOWEVER, there's a pluggin for that. Hehhhh.

Firefox is definitely better overall, particularly for everyday web browsing (like checking forums, news, sports scores or whatever).

There's still some stuff that works better in IE though. Since it's a standard, more people develop web technologies to optimize for IE... so sometimes, things don't work as well as they do in IE. Sometimes, they don't work at all. For instance, Clubbox works flawlessly with IE but not so much in Firefox.

So, even though it's better, in almost all cases, you still have to keep IE.

Generally, Firefox has less popup. spyware, etc but only because people developing those have just started to adjust for Firefox. As Firefox's userbase continues to grow, the spyware developers will adjust and it'll eventually be the same.

Microsoft has released and STILL releases countless updates to improve the stability of IE, but people will still stay with FireFox just because of the fact that IE had the vunerabilities in the first place. It saddens me.

Firefox is great, but if you're using Vista, I would recommend sticking with IE7, much better integrated with the rest of the system.

I use FF as my primary browser; never used IE even BEFORE FF existed...i used netscape..thats how much i dislike IE, lol. but even hardcore FF lovers have to use IE since not all sites (eg. microsoft update; activeX pages) are compatible...

I use FF with IE tab. I use a lot of plug-ins which help me out a lot like email notifiers and more. Then there are some "cosmetic" plug-ins, not just skins, that makes it look better. It's more customizable.

The memory leak isn't a big deal for me, although the developers are probably working on that. Also, you can't beat the cute fox from foxkeh. happy.gif

after using both for an extended time i would have to say ff is better. i would say mainly for the plugins. there is a lot of support to be able to customize the browser into your liking plus you dont have to go into the hassle of having it save and install separately as ie makes you do where ff does it all for you and uninstalls easily also.

others things are supposedly ff has better security and i have noticed that popup blocking is better and it has google task bar integration and better cookie management.

Well I used to think it was and used it all the time and one time I downloaded an updated version and since then it kept crashing on me every so often. After that I started using IE again and I like that a lot better.
