Just like the title says...are you a struggling college student?

And I mean.....
Struggling with money.
Struggling with keeping good grades.
Struggling to attend classes everyday.
Struggling to graduate.
Struggling to find new friends and have a social life.
Struggling to change for the better (or for worse?).
Just anything you consider "struggling."

And perhaps we can encourage each other? Especially to those who feels like there's no hope in overcoming their own.

For me...I'm struggling with keeping good grades & attending classes everyday. sad.gif

sad.gif i'm basically struggling with time and being away from the family. Especially with catching up with the fast quarter system where there are a whole bunch of mid-terms thrown at us already~ and i'm no good @ reading either. I'm not good at 'skimming' the pages to get the raw information.. And i'm not so used to being away from home YET.

But as time goes by, i hope we'll all learn. sweatingbullets.gif

Im struggling with balancing my classes... most of my study time goes to gross anatomy and chem these two classes demands so much from me already and with anthropology my prof. always giving 20-40 page of reading every week along with a essay of what we read, trying to learn french so i wont be so lost in lecture, and having a quiz every other week for pre-cal with my prof. endless amount of problems he gives us i so mentally exhausted at times, and so sick of school, I already go to school 6 times a week. i feel like i need a break so i limit myself to going out once every other week because if i dont ill go nuts, but that one day i dont study im already behind in my reading ... stress kills >.<

its okay you guys we all will get through this and survive biggrin.gif

I struggle with...
-keeping up with the homework readings.
-my international relations DISCUSSION.
-International Relations in general.
-procrastination.
-keeping off weight and then losing some.
-stress and lack of sleep.
-waking up (even though it's later than when I wake up for high school)
-time-management between academics, activities, and friends.
-lack of finances.

I'm grateful for...
-the fact that I made it in college.
-the friends I had before college.
-the friends I made in college.
-the fact that I didn't lose my identity in college.
-that I don't have only 10 min. to get to each class.
-that I don't have to wake up as early as I used to.
-that I had financial aid, and a great mom.

Well, basically what I struggle with is balanced out with what I'm grateful for, so all-in-all I'm satisfied with my life. I seriously need to work on the "stop procrastinating" part though... like right now.

I struggle with trying to keep up in class, knowing beyond what's expected and writing tests >.> I never had much of a social life to begin with anyways, so there isn't much to sacrifice on that end already.

I just failed my Pharmacology 201 midterm (I swear the class average is at least 80%), messed up for my Economics midterm (which I just got home from)... and I still need to cram the entire Nerve and Muscle and Central Nervous System unit for 9AM tomorrow. OH GODS SHOOT ME DOWN NOW!!!
I stopped believing.

Ah...the life of a college student.
Filled with much struggles, but nothing we can't handle, right??
And even if we can't, there's always a way around it in time. smile.gif
So, chin up and do you best everyone!

Yup...I'm going to my math class for the first time in about a week(?) and I'm kind of scared of what's happening. -__-;
Honestly, I haven't been following with my math class, so I'm really behind.
And I'm just HOPING that we don't have an exam tomorrow. If we do, then I derserve the F for missing class for a week. dry.gif

this is such a great thread! lol..

yay i'm not alone! i feel the same way you guys... it's such a pain in the a$$ not having everything going for you. but then again, how boring would that be? we live and learn, you know?

i think we should like start some kind of soompi club for unmotivated college students. we can like help each other stay focused and what not.. lol. that would be funnnnnnnnnnnn

This is an awesome thread! Thanks for starting it.
I'm struggling with:
1. Balancing a job and 5 courses (3 English, 1 Mandarin, 1 Drama)
2. Never having gotten less than 90% on my Mandarin exams my whole life and accepting the fact that it's been 4 years since I haven't taken any Mandarin and that time gap is going to cause me to get my first below 90% exam
3. Money. I have a job, but I feel like I'm kind of spending so much money on food and clothes just to make myself feel better. I'm not broke, but I really wanna save money
4. Reading for my English courses. I have 30 books to read this semester
5. Self-esteem. My English instructor last year has so much faith in me that I'll do well in English, and that she's not even worried about me in the least. I really, really enjoy English, and I feel like it's my calling. I want to go to grad school. I want to get a PhD, but I don't believe in myself.
6. Sleep.

Now the problem with that is it doesn't help much in science courses, or medical courses, or any course that tests you on situations that don't even show up in your lectures, because they've expanded on the idea or require incredibly detailed explanations.

I've attended every single class last year for Chemistry, and it STILL doesn't make sense (even after I do all that studying outside the lecture too!). On the other hand, I skipped English classes several times, did not write the essays until the morning they were due, and STILL managed to pull off an A- huh.gif Time management is an issue though >.>

I'm struggling in math, no matter how much I try to do the damn homework, my answers alway come out wrong, and no matter how much I think I know the material, I end up totally failing on the exam. I don't understand why I'm not getting it. There was a day I spend several hours doing math homework and I ended up dreaming about doing math homework.
