HI HI everyone!
[I'm not sure if this belongs here or in the HW help section.. (but where is that thread now anyway??).. -- All in all, please redirect me if this should go elsewhere!! Thanks!]

I'm doing a research paper on web designers from the year 2000 to the present time, and i googled-- b/c i had no idea where to start. I'm not familiar w/ web designers (and web design overall).. and i got kind of and when i found an article about there not being famous web designers.. b/c the web design industry has just barely begun. Which is kind of true in a sense that there are more internet users today compared to 5 or 10 years ago...

So, with me having no clue about web design and especially about the people who are known to producing web design-- And after googling and scaring myself-- i turn to my fellow soompiers..

Is there a particular web designer that you know of that has done some interesting work..? Please feel free to tell me why you like his/her work and techniques also .
A name and website would help. ^^

for me.. the only one i know so far is brian chuck @ brianchuck.com

he's a "freelance" designer.. he usually does really good designs for club events and stuff.
and you can see samples on his website & myspace.
like i know A LOT of people do designs for club events
but his REALLY stands out.
you'd think, wow why didn't i think of doing that.
kinda stuff.

plus he's also really hot

Hrm, actually i did think of that b/c i got to the point of recognizing that a lot of web designers are freelancers, unless they work for a business or something. But Chuck's autobio and portfolio is on myspace??? that's... ironic.. Yet, i noticed he's more of a graphic designer compared to a web designer.. that prob makes more sense But they're totally 2 different things.

How about Eric Meyers? Not sure if he's a web designer but he's an expert on html and style sheets. I read his books on CSS and I found it informative.

Thanks you all. Just to let you know, i am definitely looking into each and every one of the designers you've suggested. But i'm still very open as to who i will actually write on~ it's just a bit hard b/c i have to distinguish them between graphic designers or web designers.. haha. They are very similar occupations/designers, but have different focuses. -Either way, thanks a bunch for your help!! I really really appreciate it! I'm still looking for more too!!
