When I'm trying to record myself singing (yes I sing. x-x) The music I play in the background to help me sing is being recorded louder than my voice, even when I'm shouting (I did it on purpose to see if i would be heard). I tried turning down the music, that didn't work. x-x What should I do?

Edit: Please answer ASAP. x-x I have a project due on friday and I need to sing my anthem with the instrumentals. x-x

Move the mic closer to you and further away from the speakers (and make sure it's directed towards you)?

Or is it not recording your voice at all?

You mean that it's recording the background music, but not your voice AT ALL?
If that's the problem, then you can solve it by setting the recording source to "Microphone" instead of "Stereo Mix".
