If eyeliner/eyeshadow gets in your eyes, could it damage your eyes/vision? Also, would applying eyeliner on your waterline get it into your eyes? X:

I'd think if any foreign substance enters your eye, it would react to try and neutralise te substance?
There's a small chance, but it varies from person to person I suppose? And make-up is designed to be safe, isn't it?

There's also a chance that you might get "styes" from not removing eye make-up.
Look it up on Wikipedia if you don't know - It's a type of infection.

As for the waterline question, I wouldn't know the health issues related to that. <___>

i think it is safer to go for the sensitive range if you have sensitive eyes and what not
like Almay.. especially if you wear lenses

yeah, could possibly react with ur eyes if they are sensitive...but nothing that drastic....unless ur makeup is dirty and spreads bacteria in ur eye 0_o

also excessive use of makeup may cause the glands in ur upper nd lower eyelids to be blocked, which can give u dry eyes in the long run [i have that - its like a milder form of blepharitis]

never apply makeup on the waterline
it could cause infection, and over time will discolor the whites of you eyes.

I would think your tear ducts would react to foreign substances entering your eyes, just the same as when dirt might enter your eyes: you'll just tear up and try to get them out.

Hypoallergenic stuff is always good too if you're sensitive. I recommend Physician's Formula. smile.gif

Just never share eye makeup.

A lot of makeup are made to be contact safe, etc, so it shouldn't be too damaging to your eye.

Yes. Our cosmetics contain many toxic chemicals and could hurt our eyes.

I don't know exactly but I do think it is possible. I know that with contacts you have to be constantly changing your eye makeup .

if you ever do get ANY eye makeup in your eye wash it out as soon as possible!
if you can't bear putting water/eye drops in your eyes (like me :$) try crying it out!

I think it would.
If certain types of lotion or creme could damage your skin, then how can eyemakeup not damage your eyes?
It's safer to not apply too much, too close.
