how many withdrawals do u guys think its ok to have throught out college?
and im talking about WITHDRAWALS not dropping your course, withdrawing is when u get a W and u don't get your money back

im in an accounting class for my major and i hate it, cuz the teacher doesn't even give u a good amount of time to finish quizzes or test, she's like u have 10 mins to do a 20 multiple choice quiz etc.. and i work my ass for a class i hate and don't need it, i need it to soley to pull my gpa up and try not to waste 700 bucks of my dads money spent on the course, plus im looking forward into IT even though i don't know nething

the first 2 intro acct course weren't so bad, but now its just annoying and wasting my study time from other courses and my social life away! i am pissed off studying so hard and getting horrible grades cuz im not a smart guy, i have C so far in the class but i don't feel like putting much effort in it cuz i have other classes to worry about, i need straight A's to pull my horrific 2.9 GPA up..
so if i get a C in acct, the grades for other classes would also probably drop as well which is also a risk, but if i receive a W, i could push harder for straight A's in classes I need to raise up my GPA but my dad will be pisses b/c its a waste of 700 bucks -____-

someone help me please i need good advice mostly with college kids with a lot of experience, and this is my 3rd year, i prob have 2 years to go
i feel so stupid b/c i nvr taken 16 creds before cuz im bad at time management and etc..but i do take summer courses and planning to take a winter session to even it out
how many times must I fall over and over again? and when will i finally succeed at a such a vital point in my life while my time is dwindling away???

Tough position... I can't really help. ph34r.gif But I'm in an art school and I've gotten C's in 2 classes. It doesn't really matter since my portfolio is what counts. Plus, I don't want to waste more money. =/

it's up to you.
think about it... hard.

if it's really gonna bring you to fail, c- or below...
there's no need to have it, right?

but then you'll be a class behind.

i've had one so far... the teacher was crazy like yours too.

so... think about it.
think about the long term.
short term, it saves you from that failing,
but long term... more class next semester and one withdraw on your record.

good luck.
you'll be fine.
take care.

If you took the course just to bump up your grade, why didn't you withdraw within the first three weeks? That would've gotten 100% of your money back PLUS it wouldn't affect your grade. 3 weeks should've been plenty time to decide whether you're doing any good or not. That being said, as someone mentioned earlier, if you're willing to take an extra class next semester (or over the summer) to make up for it and it won't affect your graduation schedule, then I don't see why you can't withdraw.

I haven't had to do that yet. If you didn't need the class you should've taken something else and withdrawn from the class by the date your school has. I'm sure there are way better classes for you to take to get up your GPA. What about elective classes? Could they raise your gpa any?It depends though on the class. At my school there are some classes you have to have at least a C to pass like in foreign language for example so I would check that out first before anything. Oh I just remembered I did withdraw from a class once it was music appreciation and I couldn't do some of the homework stuff (you had to go and listen to concerts and do reviews) and it was pretty expensive so I withdrew. I also got my money back from the class since I did it before the withdraw date. So your school might do that.
