water resources engineering..which is essentially a combination of environmental and civil anyway haha. it's the worst decision of my life, the course is hard and it's eating away my time like crazy

Senior EE at UH-Manoa.

No life.. for the most part. Sometimes the other gEEks and I play nintendo DS during breaks between classes. Sometimes we all just hang out together and revel in the time we can spare aside from doing homework. All in all, I love my major (it's fascinating to learn, although the homework is a drag) and the people in it.

BS Electrical Engineering from [see facebook badge in signature]. "This material will be very difficult and you're covering more content than most typical college students right now, but the pay off is immediate right away after you graduate," said my freshman engineering physics professor. I say he was right. Even the slackers with 2.0 GPA's from my school were getting engineering job offers upon graduation.

So all you engineer majors gotta suffer a little right now even if you don't like it. It's only temporary. I wasn't a hardcore geek like many others in my major coming into it and that intimidated me. I put up my fight for 5.5 years, sacrificed many Friday/Saturday nights studying and hated it. But it stimulated me to my limits so I know what I'm capable of. And I'm getting an awesome job. I think I'm more street smart/practical than I would have been without engineering so I don't regret it.

Word of advice that I tried to follow as much as possible but couldn't: Understand the concept, don't just plug-and-chug into equations! If not, you'll regret it when you get into the upper division courses.

I'm at the end of my second year of ChemE. I'm actually one of quite a few girls in my class, I think about a third of the class is girls (although..my class only consists of around 50 people lol)

i'm currently taking up ELECTRONICS AND COMMUNICATIONS ENGINEERING and currently on my 3rd year...

i took up industrial engineering before, during my first three semesters in college.... unfortunately, i felt it wasn't really what i wanted so i eventually shifted to ECE...
