i was in the same situation, not school, but at work. i have a "nice" car and i didn't mind taking it to work, however, a truck ran into my car and it costed 13,000 to fix (i paid only deductable). ever since then, i didn't drive my car to work, until recently, just decided, if u're not going to enjoy your car, why buy an expensive one in the first place? i was hesitant to drive it even going out! cuz i didn't want to valet my car. so i say just enjoy your car, drive it to school and if the unthinkable happens, you have insurance?

If you really want to drive your car, park away from everyone else. Park at the very end where only one car will be next to you. Or have a friends park next to you. Keep it low key and it should be fine.

May I ask if its for college or high school? My car is yet to be vandalized in university for 2 years and counting. Several of my friends had similar problems during their high school years but once they stepped into college, it no longer seems to be an issue.

Now each situation is different and if your car is that glaring in comparison to your peers' and that you'd hate to see it damaged, then I'd advise you to rather be safe than sorry. And as a student, thats why I really like to lease my cars so if it really gets a knock or two, it wouldn't hurt that much because I know they will be bruised and scratched one way or another at our age.

If you're worried about it, don't drive it if you have alternative vehicles to drive. Simple as that.

But I wouldn't let my car run my life. It is an RSX. Only if I drove a $50k+ baller car I would really start worrying. I'm sure people your age would rather admire it rather than vandalize it unless you live in hicksville.

Other than stupid drivers hitting/dinging my car and one keying incident, the only other thing that people did to my car was spit on my window. What can you do? not much.

also the g can already run mid 13s stock and the hks intakes adds an estimated 10 extra hp and the exhausts add like 8 so yeah it should shove off about 1.5 to 2 sec off my times

If you're even worried about, then don't do it. Simple, car stays home and safe, easy. I don't know why you even want to ask this question... because if you are driving it to school to show off ur 'status' then odds are it is gonna get vandalized in one form, shape or another.

If you want to play it safe, just drive another plain vehicle to school... where no one will give a crap. Also peer pressure will lead you to trouble, don't question me on this or doubt it, experience has taught me this and i'm actually very thankful that I didn't go buy a nice car (or even any car) when I was still in HS.

^I agree with boost, but from a high school kid's perspective an RSX-S means status.

EDIT: This ride is your b*tch and you should flaunt it for what it's worth. It's an RSX-S. Rock that b*tch.

+1

If you were driving a Ferrari or Lambo then it would be a different story, but comon now, you drive an rsx.

Now if u had a crap load of expensive aftermarket stuff and don't want it stolen then I'd understand why u wouldn't want to drive it to school, but otherwise if u just drive a plain old rsx-s, just park it farther away and walk to class. The envy u might think is happening is if u just turned 16 and u get to drive before them. But other than that, the truth is that there's nothing to envy about with your car.

What should you do?

It's not a matter of risk... it's a matter of the truth.

Do you think they are jealous? You can only know for sure if you did actually drive your car to school.

But if your car gets vandalized, the persona "panda" and the human behind this persona is not liable to any damages. tongue.gif

HS kids are dumb. I say dont risk it. I've had many friends who brought their nice cars to school back in hs only to get it scratched, keyed, or spit on.. even soda. They do anything for a dare or to be funny or to look cool.

What might not be anything special to you, could be someone else's treasure. And the fact that cars are worth thousands, it would suck to have some dumb kid mess it up for fun. Fun aint worth hundreds to repaint.

if you're risking it, then you will be prepared for the chance that someone will see it, get jealous and scratch it with his or her keys. or just scratch it, just because it's a nice looking car and that they are worthless scum.
