Here is 1 of the translated interviews .. i still have 3 left ...

K-OTIC back with their latest album BLACKLIST

Kaos is greek god of chaos and subsequently is now used to describe these 5 boys really well, Poppy - Panu Chiraguna, Koen - Patdanai Sedsuwan, Jongbae - Jongbae Park, Kenta - Kenta Tsuchiya, and Tomo - Wisawa Taiyanon. These 5 boys created a lot of chaos with their debut album last year that brought something new to the music scene, event with their different personalities and nationalities but when they are together they fit really well with each other.

They are all back - Poppy, Koen, Jongbaem Kenta and Tomo, with their 2nd album, Blacklist, with new dance moves and styles such as Stree Freestyle and their clothing style which is called Street Wear.

What‘s the name of the album?
K-OTIC - it’s called “blacklist”. The concept of this album is like people have their eyes on us and we are on their blacklist

How is this album different from the last one?
K-OTIC - This album has more of a Street feel to it and since we are now older then when we did our first album it has a different feel to it but it still has the K-OTIC touch to it. And since we’re closer now with everyone and the production team everything went smoothly and it was a little easier then before too since our team new our personalities and knew what we wanted to do so it turned out great.

When did you start working on this album?
K-OTIC - If you count in the voice lessons and dance rehearsals that we did for this album as well then we started at the end of our promotion for the first album. We first started by extra and longer dance rehearsals everyday and then our company RS sent us to a lot of different voice trainers and singing teachers so that we can learn new singing techniques and styles for our 2nd album.

For this album is your choreographer stronger and rough looking?
K-OTIC - Yes you can say that it has a strong feel to it like how we mixed in Krumpin and b-boying. Like for example when he are b-boying we’ll use a more difficult move and that needs a lot more engery and power behind it that;s why we had to practice a lot and harder.

Why B-Boy?
K-OTIC - You can say that the b-boy style is the latest dance craze in Korea and here. And with krumpin it’s a hot dancing style in the states.

What are the styles of dancing you guys do for the album?
K-OTIC - Everyone dances to the choreography where we are together but for the individual choreography we all have different styles and choreography that fits our own style the best. Kenta’s dance style is called “Street Breaking” which is mixed with B-boying and shows more of the power moves of the lower half of his body with the footwork. Poppy is dancing style is called “Street New Style” which is hip hop but a new style that just came. Koen and Jongbae are dancing the style called “Street Isolation Delight” and lastly Tomo is dancing in the style of “Street Footwork” which is a style that makes you move like water …

How did you decide who gets to dace what style?
K-OTIC - well we were taught that style from the beginning. Like in the beginning stages making this album the teacher looked at us and our body to see which style our body was capable of doing best.

So you guys put your all into the dancing and this album?
K-OTIC - Yes, like we’ll have to go to work early in the morning and then at around 6pm we’ll be done but from 8pm till midnight or later we’ll be in the dance studio practicing. Even though its rough and tiring we do it so our performances won’t go down.

How many songs are on the album?
K-OTIC - 10 songs

So is the majority of the songs in the album is upbeat?
K-OTIC - There are about 3-4 songs that are upbeat but the rest are slow songs. We wanted to let the listeners know what we are trying to tell them and with slower songs its a little easier to tell them how and what we feel.

Did you guys have to do extra work to make your bodies fit?
K-OTIC - Well since we are dancing a lot for this album when we had a lot of dance rehearsals so then we just ended up being fit due to the dance rehearsals we had.

Who are your choreographers for this album?
K-OTIC - Our main choreographer is Kru J. Da, but technically speaking we have 5 different choreographers - Kru J.Da, Pump, Kru Kai, Kru Diew, and Kru Sin
**Kru means Teacher**

Why did you choose to use so many different dancing styles for this album?
K-OTIC - We wanted something new for this album and try new dancing styles out so it wouldn’t be the same like the last album so we tried to mix the different styles up to create something new. For each different dance style that we used we went to different teachers who are stronger in that style of dance style. Like we would go to this teacher to learn this type of dance and then we’ll go to another teacher who teachs us a different style of dance. And with this we mixed and mashed it up with the song so it would fit the style that will represent us and it’s also something different and new.

What‘s the opening single for the album?
K-OTIC - The song is called “Blacklist” and its also the same title as the album. The concept of the album is like we’re dangerous but if you like a challenge or something new then come in and see for youself. It’s something around that idea

Are you guys rapping in the song as well?
K-OTIC - Yes we have rapping parts in the songs and we also have rapping parts in Japanese and Korean. Jongbae writes his own raps in Korean for the songs and Kenta and Tomo help each other write the Japanese parts for the song too

Is it hard to rite your own rapping parts in the song?
K-OTIC - Yes, its somewhat hard because you have to write the parts to fit well with the words that are already in the song and the beats of how we‘re saying the rap has to match the beat of the song as well. Since we have to match our raps to the thai lyrics that were given to us we will translate the whole song into Japanese and Korean to make it a little easier for us to write the rap for the song

Did you guys choose your own color?
K-OTIC - No, our producing team chose the color because they know us already and what kind of style we have so we started from there

How did your album look and outfit come about?
K-OTIC - For this album our team took our characteristics and interpreted into colors and started off from there. For example, Kenta is orange which represents his cheerfulness, being bright, and how strong he is. Poppy is blue which represents his quiet nature and his look. Koen is pink but is doesn’t just represent Koen as a sweet natured person but it also represents his naughtiness he has in him. Jongbae is green which represents his romantic streak he has in him. Lastly Tomo is yellow which represents his coolness he has in him as well as the fun side to him.

How‘s the feedback so far for the Blacklist album?
K-OTIC - From the time out first single was released we had a lot of good feedback from fans and people saying they like the song and it also made it on the charts in the different areas all over Thailand as well. And with that we want to say THANK YOU to our fans for giving us so much support because before we were going to release the album we were worried if the fans and everyone would like the songs or not. So with all the good feedback we’ve been getting our worries about the album is now gone thanks to the fans and since they’ve accepted us we are thankful to them for letting us reach our goals and stand where we are right now.

What makes K-Otic stand out from the rest of the boy bands out now?
K-OTIC - hmm maybe how “K-Otic” we are and out personalities that make us different and that we have 3 nationalities in our group - Thai, Japanese, and Korean. So with that we use 3 languages in our songs to have something new for listeners to try out.

Any last words about the album ?
K-OTIC- Okay, we’ve released 3 singles now - Blacklist, Kae Tur Song Sai, and Fan Mai and now all three music videos have been released as well. Our album is also out on sale now so we hope that you’ll listen to it and buy the copyrighted album not the pirated album. We love you guys and if you want to follow our news on about what we’re doing right now you can go to www.zheza.com to do so. Thank you.

oh and K-OTIC are going to have a short reality tv show based off of their Step into the Blacklist dance contest. Its going to show the final 5 contestants going through what K-OTIC goes through with K-OTIC's choreographer and the lessons they take at the Harlem Shake Dance Studio ...

I-Spy Interview- tomo couldn't make it to this one

What‘s the latest gift you‘ve received?

Koen - It is a Keroro doll that I got from a fan from the country, to me this signifies as a gift from the fans for coming back with our 2nd album and how much they probably missed us. I personally like Keroro already and I call my Keroro “Sip Toh” and I also use the Keroro as my background for my Hi5. I collect everything Keroro and I have a lot of em at home, if you’re free you can come to my house and take a picture of it and write a column about it in your magazine too (laughs jokingly).
Poppy - A Winnie the Pooh stuffed animal that a fan gave me. I personally love Pooh because when I was younger my mom bought me a Pooh bear and I’ve grown attached to it ever since. And I collect it too, since there are always new designs that come out.
Kenta - A watch that my mom bought me as a gift for the first day of college. I normally don’t wear watches but my mom surprised me with it and I’ve never taken it off since then.
Jongbae - The gifts I’ve received from the fans, there is a lot from shirts, bags, watches, and etc. If I just pick out one of the gifts then the other fans might feel bad. So I guess my last gift would have to be the hearts and love of the fan club can be my latest gift.

What gift do you treasure the most?

Koen - My dad gave me a Buddha necklace for my birthday, which happens to be January 22, (laughs) I’ve had it for 2 years now. My dad said that since I’m in the entertainment business now I should have this with me as good luck.
Poppy - A watch that my parents gave me for new years a year or 2 ago. We were at a watch store and they asked me which one did I like and I pointed to one but they didn’t buy it for me yet. My parents went back to the store and bought it for me as a surprise gift.
Kenta - My mom bought me a wallet for new years in 2008. She said that the reason she bought me the wallet so that I can start saving my money (laughs) and so that I can have it organized without losing it.
Jongbae - A bag that the fan club gave me. It was a really expensive name brand bag and at first I was really shocked because I didn’t think they would buy me a real thing. Oh and there is another one, a name brand watch that was bought outside of Thailand. I really cherish these gifts that were given to me.

Most memorable gift you‘ve given someone
Koen - I gave a Keroro doll to my half sister, we have different mothers. I had this huge Keroro stuffed animal that the fans gave me as a gift and to tell you the truth I was really protective of this one Keroro stuffed animal too but I saw that she kept on touching it and playing with it. I saw that she really wanted it and since she was only about a year old so I just gave it to her since she wanted it. It felt good to give it to her and my dad called later on saying that she loves the Keroro doll and how she’s sleeping with it now.
Poppy - A card I made for my mom
Kenta - I remember when I was younger that my mom was really sick so for her birthday I gave her a medicine box to put all of her medication in it
Jongbae - My mom’s birthday that happened just recently. I bought her a shirt and I wrapped it and I gave her the gift saying “Happy Birthday” and I hugged her too.

Latest New Years gift
Koen - It has to be this Big Star microphone that is a pen as well as a microphone. My best friend named Tangmo bought me this as a new years gift for 2008, she said that she gave me this gift because I’m a singer and our group reached success in the industry with our first album so she gave me this. Oh and she said that it’s something to remember her by since we don’t get to see each other often.
Poppy - The watch I just told you about earlier. Actually I like to wear watches a lot and I when I would talk to my dad I’ll tell him about this watch or that watch. To tell you the truth this is the first watch that my father bought me and it means something to me. And when I get older its something I can tell to my kids.
Kenta - It’s the wallet I just told you about, when I opened the gift I was surprised to see the wallet too because I normally don’t carry one. I use to have one but it ripped to shreds. With this one I’m going to take care of it really good, as if my life depended on it (laughs). I also hooked my keys to the wallet too because I’m scared I’m going to lose my keys too. But if I lose my keys with the wallet I’m sure I’ll get a lecture from my mom for sure.
Jongbae - The latest new years gift I received is a shirt, watch, bag, and stuffed animals that the fans have given to me.

If you could give a special gift to someone what would it be
Koen - The latest fishing pole that just came out that is able to catch a lot of huge fishes. I want to give this to my dad who is running is business at Khao Chang right now.
Poppy - I want to give a hug and hug someone who I really love because I think this is the best gift anyone can give (smiles)
Kenta - I want to give my heart to everyone on earth (laughs), give my love to everyone
Jongbae - If had a lot of money I would give each of my fans a gift from me

Most memorable moment and or gift
Koen - It has to be last year when we had an event to do for the new years countdown party at Khon Kaen. There was this one group of fans who followed us to Khon Kaen and they somehow managed to get into our hotel room. When we opened the door they yelled “Surprise! Happy New Year!!!” and they each gave us new years gifts too. It was the most touching and memorable moment and we had a lot of fun.
Poppy - Usually when my mom is going to buy us a gift she’ll have to think it over and over until she finally decides on what to buy. So one time when I was younger when the game boy was really hot and everyone had one and the one I had was a old model and my mom saw me still playing with it even though it was old. So when I woke up the day of my birthday I saw a lot of birthday gifts in front of me so I opened all the boxes and I finally saw the new game boy that my mom bought me
Kenta - My birthday that just past this year, I went to a show called “Pop Up Live” and it’s a live show too and then my fans came to surprise me with gifts and we cut my birthday cake right there.
Jongbae - Honestly, that I get to live everyday because of the love that I get from our fans. It’s something that I really cherish and will never forget

Have you ever exchanged gifts to each other in the group before
Koen - Of course its something that you can’t forget, we’ve been together for about 3 years now but we’ve never given each other gifts but just the fact that we get to be together is good enough. Like for the new years countdown we are together and hug each other saying happy new year.
Poppy - Occasionally depending on the occasion, like my birthday that just past the other 4 members pooled their money together and got me a jacket. I’ve worn it out to certain events and concerts and I’ve worn it when I was touring with Waii too.
Kenta - We’ve given each other gifts but mainly we’ll pool money together with other members and sometimes we’ll completely forget too (laughs)
Jongbae - Yes we’ve exchanged gifts occasionally. I had gotten a shirt from Koen once.

2009 New Years gift from me to you (gifts they would give to each group member)
Koen - Don’t tell anyone but I guess I can whisper this to you then. I want to give Kenta something for his bones so he can grow taller since he’s been complaining a little about how he wants to be taller. I want to give Poppy painter’s paint since the dye in his hair keeps coming out maybe the painters paint my actually stay in his hair for once (laughs). With Jongbae since his Thai isn’t that strong yet I want to give him a vcd that teaches thai so he can watch it a learn more from it and so he can sing his solo song “Niew Koy” more fluently. Lastly with Tomo since he is having a problem resting for a long time I want to give him face cream so that his face can look refreshed and well rested.
Poppy - I promised Tomo that I would by him an ipod since he lost his ipod. With Kenta since he likes to play games a lot I’ll most likely buy an X Box for him. Since Jongbae is really serious about his education I’ll probably get him some books. For Koen since he likes to read I’ll buy him a bookcase because he reads those a lot. When we were on tour I saw him reading the comics and he ended up finishing 20 books within a month. So a bookcase would fit him the most for all those books he’s been reading and I’ll continuously buy him books to fill up the bookcase too.
Kenta - I’ll get Tomo hair gel so he can fix his hair 24 hours a day. (little known fact that Tomo is always fixing his hair) With Koen I’ll give him something Keroro since he likes it already and he’s starting to look like it too (laughs). With Poppy most likely anything blue like hats, shoes, or a shirt. Lastly, Jongbae I think I want to buy him a new pair of glasses since he’s been wearing the same old pair for the longest time now. A new up to date pair would do to match the latest fashion trend.
Jongbae - Koen said that he wants a shirt from Korea and since I happen to be going to Korea soon I’ll buy him a shirt. I’ll buy hats for Poppy and Tomo since they like to wear hats. And a jacket for Kenta.

2009 New Years gift you‘d like to recieve
Koen - Oh wow seriously. If this ends up in the magazine then there is a chance that I might actually get it huh (laughs). Okay what I really do want. I saw that Tomo just recently bought the latest Mac notebook and I heard that it cost about 6 figures (thai money). But I really do want one though. If there is anyone who loves Koen and you want to give me a gift you can consider getting me a Mac notebook (laughs)
Poppy - I want a guitar (cant make out which one he wants)
Kenta - I want a really nice expensive car (laughs) like a BMW would be nice
Jongbae - Any gift would be okay

Happy New Year 2009
Koen - From our first album to this one the fans have always supported us and havent forgotten us. So I want to say thank you to our fans and I hope you have a happy new year. And I hope the fans will buy a lot of copies of I Spy and I hope the sales records for I Spy to sky rocket and I hope they will ask us to be on the cover again.
Poppy - Well the new year is coming and I want you guys to forget anything bad that has happened in the old year and start a new for the new year. For those people who didn’t get to do things that they didn’t get to do in the last year I want to tell you to just do it this year because life is too short

Jongbae's interview from an Education Magazine ...

This young man here was born and raised in Seoul, Korea until he flew over to Thailand where he is now a famous singer in a boy band where you can easily say that has captured many hearts of tween and teen girls alike. What sets this group apart is their warm kindhearted nature that they show towards their fans and the fans have reciprocated back to them. This young man that I’m talking about is none other then Jongbae Park of the famous boy band K-OTIC.

Other then his good looks this singer with Korean blood is also a studious person where his education is very important to him. With hard work and dedication he passes his entrance exams and is now a freshman at Chula Lhong Korn University.

“The day I found out my results from the entrance exams and found out that I got into Chula Lhong Korn I was really happy and excited because this was my number one pick to go to. And once I found out I called and told my parents in Korea and they were really happy for me as well because they know that Chula Lhong Korn is the number 1 university in Thailand. Honestly I was looking at 2 other schools as well such as Mahidol, and Tummasart but both universities are really far and since I always go to RS after school towards the evening by the time I’d get there from either school I’d probably be extra tired. Eventhough Chula is closer I am really happy that I got into my first choice.”

Was the Faculty of Economics (International Division) your first choice as a major?
“Yes, it’s something I wanted to learn more and major in and that’s why it was my first choice. I chose this because its something that you can use in your everyday life now or in the future. Another reason why I chose this is because when I was in high school at International Community School (ICS) there was an economics course there and I grew to like this course and I had fun with it.

You want to know something, deep down inside I wanted to major in Communication of Arts too. I actually like both of them equally but I was disappointed that my test scores weren’t good enough for that major but it turns out that I ended up getting the number 1 position for the Faculty of Economics so I was happy that I got in one of the 2. ”

How is it being a Freshy (what they call freshman’s in college) so far?
“Being as freshy at chula is really fun because we get to do a lot of fun activities with the other freshies and the older students sort of watch out for us and gives us advice when we ask for it. Lately I haven’t been able to go to any of the activities due to my work schedule but I really do want to go badly. It looks like fun too. At first I really wanted to the freshman orientation and I was really looking forward to it but in the end I didn’t get to go (laughs). The reason why I didn’t get to go is because we were touring all around Thailand at the time and we were scheduled to go to another city. I really wanted to join in on the soccer activities too because I really like to play soccer a lot and I want to join the school team too.”

How is it being a foreigner coming to Thailand and entering the school system here?
“I prepared myself a lot beforehand because it’s a new country and society that I’ll have to live in and adjust to but once I got here everything went by very smoothly. I made a lot of friends quickly and since I like to learn new things and meet new people it was easy for me. At that time I was in the international division of the school and it turns out that there was another Korean student in the same grade level as me and he’s been living in Thailand for 2 years already and he came to me and asked for my advice on this and that. But he didn’t know I was a singer in here in Thailand but he later found out because his little sister knew who I am.”

Jongbae has said that learning the Thai language is really difficult but it isn’t an obstacle that will get in his way because compared to the beginning he has improved a lot, he understands more and can speak fairly well.

“So far my Thai speaking skills have gotten much better, I can understand more, and I can speak a little more fluently because compared to before I couldn’t speak that well. If I could rate myself out of 10 I would give my self a 6 or 7 because I can understand it, I can read it, and speak it but all that’s left is writing the Thai characters. It’s hard because I don’t know what character makes what sounds and how to string the characters and vowels together to make a word. I personally think that learning Thai is really hard (smiles) because there are some words that require a higher pitch to the word or a lower tone. So yeah it’s a little hard.”

Since Jongbae has choosen this path to become a singer there has to be a time when his school might be effected by it due to his workload. How is going juggling both?
“Being a freshman at school and being a singer at the same time is really difficult because my schedule isn’t the same as my other friends who are going to school because some of my time is being used towards my time as a singer and working. Like on some days when I’m done with school I’d have to get in a car to go on a place to do a concert somewhere in the country. It’s really tiring sometimes.

Effects on my school work, well so far my grades and everything have been really good. There might be a subject where I’m doing well in and I don’t have any problems with and there might be other subjects where I’m not doing so well in (laughs). So for the subjects that I’m not doing good in I have to do extra readings and get tutoring on my own time. And honestly I’m a little worried about this because so far each of the classes I’m taking is really hard and I’m trying my best with each class so I can pass it. My parents are worried about my schooling too since I’m not the greatest at managing my time but they know that education is my number 1 priority and it’s something I’m really serious about.”

What about the future? What are your plans for the future are you going to continue school and follow through in your path with being a singer?
“Education wise I want to graduate with my bachelors degree but if I want to continue school to get a masters degree is another story. So right now I’m focused on getting my bachelors right now. To be honest I’m not the greatest at planning my future but my main goal is school. I’ve never seriously planned out my future with me doing this or that I just want to do the work I have today the best I can.

Other then being a singer I wanted to try being an actor. I really want to try acting right now but I haven’t gotten the opportunity to do it yet. But there was this one time when I went to a casting audition for a lakorn (thai series) and I passed the audition and got the role. Later on they called and told me that they weren’t doing the series anymore (laughs). So yeah that was a little disappointing but if the offer ever comes up again I want to try it.”

Jongbae also said that even though he’s Korean, while living in Thailand he grew to love it as much as his own home and Jongbae also told me to pass the message along to other students who are reading this interview to keep focusing on their school work because education is really important.

Kimberleigh87: Thanks for uploading all the photos and interviews! I really appreciate it.

I don't really know why, but I like this group a lot.
Maybe it's kind of because I like Kenta a little (or a lot).
Their Blacklist album had some good tracks on it.
I'm looking forward to seeing more of them.

I was also wondering if anyone knew where I could find the translations of their songs.
I can kind of get the context of them, but my Thai is awful.

KOTIC along with fellow label mates in KAMIKAZE grabbed the 2 covers of KAZZ e-magainze & KAZZ Mini magazine .. here are some of the pics .. hopefully once the mag sites loads up all the pics for this issue then i'll post em up ... with this mag you get A LOT of extra stuff like postcards, huge poster, wallpapers on the cds ... oh yeah you get a cd from each mag and techinically you have to get both versions of the mag, the main e-mag and mini to get all the extra stuff .. but i think its worth it ..
