When do you guys think that getting on a plane to get to your college than driving to get there is a benefit? It takes me about 5 hours to get home driving from my dorm, is it worth the cost of getting on a plane? My time while driving equal money, too! Your opinion? So, what about if take at least 10 hours to get home from college or whatever? I'm trying to compare the benefits of wasting my time driving and paying a lot for a plane in order for me to get home/college faster!

Well how much is the flight from your college to home? With the cost in gas these days :/ and it's kinda unsafe to drive over 5 hours then drive back and gas and what not. It could be highly beneficial to just take plane. I hear from LA to SanFran it can be as long as 39 round trip? Look up prices.

i live four hours from home.
my friends live about.... 6 hours. and they fly.

i think for you, 5 hours is not tooo far,
but gas is really expensive.

flying... i dont know the prices. look into them.
which one is cheaper, then that is a good one.

up to you.
which fits you more.
flying, getting home quicker.
driving, gas money, getting home in more time.

good luck.
take care.

You can rack up mileage points if you fly enough with one airline.

eww, driving time of 5 hours 1 way

i drive 1 hour per direction and so that's fine but i've driven to berkely from la before... horrible. 6 hours time

basically what i'm getting at is that the greatest resource a student has is his time and 10 hours is far too much to give up especially since it exhausts you and you gotta sleep after that drive which is another couple hours

Does your college not have dorms or apartments near by you can live at? Five hours is a long time. I have a world politics professor who takes a good hour or so to get home from my CC.

I would think 5 hrs is not so bad. Those 5 hrs are not really important time. I mean if you were to get on the plane, it would take you about 30 mins but then you would still have to get to the airport early, etc.

I believe he does live on campus and it was talking about just coming back to visit his family.

What college are you attending? I personally don't think a 5 hours drive is that bad, but I suppose it's because I'm use to driving for a long period of time. If you tend to come home a lot, then I think you're better off with driving. Plane ticket are pricey, but if you're going to just visit once and awhile, and by the looks of it you hate driving, so get the plane ticket.

Thankfully, I only live 2 hours away from home. biggrin.gif
