I am utterly confused about what to do about this teacher rec stuff.
1. Which envelopes should I use?
2. How many stamps?
3. For the return address, should I put my name, my school's name, or my teacher's name? Or... what should I put there?
4. What else do I need to put on the envelope? Like, do I need to write that I'm applying regular, or ...what?
5. For the return postcard, can I just use a piece of ...thicker paper? Haha.
Thank you! I need to get these in ASAP >>

1. mine are 9x12 manilla envelopes. (stanford specifically requested it).
different colleges require different envelopes. go check it out. =)
2. for 1-2 sheets of paper = 1 stamp. 3-4 sheets of paper = about 2.
i would do 2 just in case. make sure they're 41!
3. my teacher told me to put my name and my mailing address.
you might want to ask your teacher to make sure.
4. you need to write that you're applying regular or early on the envelope itself.
in fact, you should type your own mailing labels. it looks more professional.
5. return postcard? i have no idea what you're talking about. lol.
hope that helps some.

1. I used the normal envelopes, not the big ones. But like said before, if the school you're applying to has a rule about it make sure you follow it.
2. I just used the number of stamps it takes to mail normal letters in the States. It's 39 cents I think.
3. For the return address, most of the people whom I've asked said that our school will put their own official address onto it. In some cases, the teachers will put their address. I think that we shouldn't put our own address because the recommendation is kind of private (if you waived you right to view it) and it should be sent directly to the university by your recommendation writer.
4. I didn't put anything onto the envelope except for my stamps. I provided my teachers with the address of the universities and the deadlines on a separate sheet of paper. Universities already know if you're applying for early or regular already.
5. Never heard of a return postcard before. I don't see why there would be one either... unless your university does it? o_O

Don't put your home addy for the return addy. You're supposed to put your school unless the university/college asks you to put yours.
& for the return postcard, I don't know if you're talking about a return receipt, but for return receipts, you get them at the post office, but most schools ask that you don't get them cus they're a hassle (but once again, if your university/college asks you to do it, do it.)

It's 41 cents now. For the return postcard, don't send a thick piece of paper...just go out and buy some actual postcards, since they're going to mail it back to you when they've received your application.
