This might be covered before but SOOMPI doesn't have a search function and it'll take quite a while to look through it thought I ask instead smile.gif

Has any of you had you're moles removed from Laser treatment? Not using the knife and cutting it off.

I'm kinda scared on the side effects of Laser removal with moles. Doctor said the laser might "trigger" the mole to have a HUGE brown spot/infection or might even trigger a cancer outbreak.

The mole is located on the left cheek on my face. So it's no where close to my mouth or eyes.

I've heard of a method called the "Undiluted Apple Vinegar" and tab it on the mole. I was wondering has that worked for anyone? I REALLY REALLY REALLY want to try it but the normal stores(like safeway etc) doesn't carry Undiluted Apple Vinegar(I think that was the name), so I'm stumped. I really want to try that to see if it will work. What would you say the success rate would be? Also for those that worked, how big was the mole and did it leave any noticeable scars?

The mole isn't like "fully popped out" or big It's just a little uneven on the surface.

Thanks SOOMPI!!!

I've done it once when I was 7 years old in Korea.

I didn't set up an appointment or anything, my mom just took me and my sister to a well known clinic in Korea, and they just did it for us right then and there. They chose the moles/freckles that we wanted to get rid of. They put an antibiotic cream/ anesthetic cream on your face and put tape over it. It's cold and it feels pretty cool, but your face doesn't feel numb. It makes your skin cold enough to be able to take the heat from the laser, I'm guessing, so that you don't feel it. Since I started crying because I was so scared, there were a bunch of nurses or something that held me down, and they made me close my eyes to protect them. They like zap it with the laser a couple times and then you're done :)

I remember my mom made me wear a hat for a while so that the sun wouldn't be too strong on my face.

If your mole is really 'deep', you might have to go in one or two more times, and you'll have a scar like an indent - but there's treatment for that (certain creams, skin grafts, etc.)

oh, i got it like, 10 times

of course the bigger moles are more painful & takes several laser treatments to get it off, but the small ones are quick and easy. you feel like a 0.3 second pinch-feeling. no biggie.

don't use the vinegar method if you have sensitive skin!
i have sensitive skin and it caused a reddish scar thing around the mole, making the mole stand out more.
it got a lot better but it's still a bit noticeable..

i want to try the laser treatment too but i'm scared.
mine aren't really moles, they're more like beauty marks. they're small and don't protrude from the skin.
can someone post the details? and side effects?

Yeah I have the same problem.

A mole with a bump is different from a mole with no bump. The difference is that the mole with a curve to it has a root.

Some doctors take the mole off but leave the root there, so it grows back. That's why you have to go to a doctor to remove/kill/burn (whatever term) the root to stop future growth. Well, so I've heard. I'm not a doctor so I don't know if this is 100% true.

However, if you do remove a mole with a bump, a scar is going to be there. Thankfully, there's Mederma (and makeup) for that. smile.gif

I'm getting mine removed by laser later this year. Hopefully all goes well. biggrin.gif

it hurt - a lot.
even worse for me, i have really sensitive skin so when i was done, i wanted to scratch them so badly.

she just put some sort of aneasthetic (sp?) cream on it, covered it for 30 minutes then got to work. pulled out a laser pen and a few q-tips. she basically went around the mole (i could smell the burning T_T) and with the q-tip, she rubbed out the dark part that makes the mole. it was funny watching my brother go through it, but when you're lying there, eyes open, and you see a sizzling laser in your face, it isn't so funny. sleep.gif

the scabs are supposed to fall out within a week, and the skin is supposed to slowly come up to fill in the crater. but for ME? nuh-uh. i mean, it's not as deep as it was when i got it, but it looks like pimple scars. they're red T_T

Is the skin really supposed to come up and fill the crater? Cause I still have a crater in my face >:f (after 7-8 years).

I did
Like 7 at the same time all on my poor face
She used numbing cream but it still hurt each time she burned one away
but it only hurts for a second
And the smell was awful

It was only $5 per mole or 쩜 but some of them only got smaller because she didn't get the root
And then there were scabs that itched like crazy >.<

i never got laser before. i have a mole on my right cheek...
i hate my mole sometimes...and occasionally, it concerns me b/c im scared that i might get skin cancer one day.
i hate it when people talk about my mole >_< it bugs me. arrrghhh! i really wanted to hide under a rock until i get rid of it when my bf little niece pointed to it and ask "whatz that?" ...which led me to use apple cider vinegar

i tried it on my ankle. i left it on for an hour or so and took it off. the skin was all soft and mushy...i wasnt sure what to do next so i just let it dry. it became a scab and i peeled it off. i didnt really take care of it afterwards and it left me blemish the size of the mole =.= ... oh well, at least its not as dark as a mole now.

then i tried it on my neck because the sensitivity is similar to my face. two different spot on my neck, one which was sorta uneven because i tried picking at it long ago. the uneven one left me a blemish (i tried scrubbing it after i took off the cider) and the skin is still uneven like before...the other one just got a bit lighter.
i didnt try it on the mole on my face because i rather have it as is than a blemish-bump (b/c i think it would look like a wart or something).

if you are going to try the ACV on your mole, test it on other moles on your body first to see if it works for you.

(sorry for such a long reply)

ive gotten moles removed a couple of years back
they were really deep and dark so it took a while for them to initially fade~
do what the doctors tell you e.g. covering the mole away from sunlight etc.
the laser hurts but just toughen up lol

ive tried ACV too, it faded my moles =]

I know this discussion was from way back. xD
But I was wondering, who you should go see if you want to have a laser surgery for it, is it the dermatologist? =]
And, by any chance, do you know how much the cost would be around to have the surgery? o-o'

6 years when i went to korea, i got a mole (right under my right eye) removed. i wasn't allowed to go out in the sun with it exposed, so i had to put on this ointment and walk outside with a hat at all times.
but. the mole came back :(
so this past summer, when i went, i went to a different dermatologist. they said it was really REALLY deep, so they removed it for me (which took a total of like 7 seconds). it smelled like something was burning LOL and it only stung a little. they gave me skin-colored sticker thingies to keep my demoled area from the sun. i had to have those on at all times for 2 days. no contact with water whatsoever. after two days, i didn't have to wear the stickers, but i still had to put some sort of ointment on it so it wouldn't scab (but it kinda did, but i left it alone and the scab fell off by itself). and when i went outside, i still wore the stickers.
but. the mole still came back. but they said it probably would because it was a very deep mole.
i went back 2 months later. they said it started to only grow back a teeeeeeeeny bit. so they got rid of that before it grew anymore. that procedure took like 3 seconds lol. and i've been back from korea for a month now and i dont use ointment or the stickers and the mole hasn't come back :D no brown spots. nothing :D i think i'm good now haha.

i do remember though, the first time i went to get rid of it, 6 years ago, i didn't get any kind of anesthesia so the laser hurt like a mother. but this time, they put on some sort of ointment for about 10 minutes that numbed my eye lol. but because of that, i wasn't in pain this time haha.

and based on the deepness and size of the mole, you may or may not have to go back a couple of times to get it removed. if i didn't go back to the dermatologist one last time right before i came back to the states, this thing probably would have grown back to it's original size within the next couple of months. but i got rid of it before it even started fully showing up, so i think it was a good idea to do that.

just remember that a mole you've always had may not completely go away with just one visit. but i definitely recommend the procedure. i tried all the home remedies. it just stung my skin a lot and left me weird blotches. pay good money to get it removed :D haha. good luck!

oops. just saw this after i made my previous post. in korea, i paid 10,000 won which is a little less than $10 o_O. the second time i went to get it, i only paid 5,000 won (a little less than $5). but all medical-y stuff in korea is so much cheaper than it is here. i have no idea how much it would cost in america.

...and i just looked it up on google and some places say it costs $125?? wth o_O. go to korea LOL :D

I think this was the natural mole removal one of the posters mentioned before:
http://www.soompi.co...showtopic=38089

The moles I got removed were pretty small, they kinda looked like freckles, but there were a lot of them. I don't remember much, because this was like 7 years ago... but I do remember the laser singing the end of my fringe ^^"
From what I recall there wasn't any pain. I just had to wear these sunglass things whilst she held this black thing up to my skin. Afterwards I was told to either avoid going outside for a bit, or wear sunscreen.
With my removal, most of the moles that were zapped got darker, then just fell off, while the others got a lot lighter and couldn't be seen unless you were like 5cm from my face.

I do know that the time it was hella expensive, not sure what the price is like now...

I have before. They applied a cream onto the moles first, let that sit for about 30 minutes.
Then they use the laser to remove it.
After she was done, she used a qtip and swiped it away.

There was a tony dent from where the mole was then it scarred; but I use neosporin on it for a few weeks and it healed up with no scar.
My skin usually leaves some sort of scarring no matter what, but my scars actually healed up.
I didn't feel anything either during the process, well, nothing painful, it was just a light tingle for me.

Haha, yeah, maybe when I have the chance. It's so expensive here. :/ But, then again..

Thanks for the replies everyone~
Doesn't sound so painful, but sounds like it stings. ._.'
I think I might start searching around somewhere in California for a good place that's a bit cheap.
