Clean it daily and throughly at least 2-3 times a day. Make sure you clean it after you take a shower also.
Don't take your stud out. Just make sure you continually clean off all that "gunk" on it though.
When you get those crusty stuff, don't scratch or pick at it! Get a wet q-tip and just gently swipe it off.

I also recommend using sea salt soaks smile.gif Just get sea salt and dissolve it in lukewarm water. Soak that with a cotton ball and just clean your ear with it.

Don't use Neosporin, rubbing alcohol, or hydrogen peroxide! Sea salt would probably be the best thing to use smile.gif

Go see a doctor. :) They know their stuff.

And I think you should either clean the earring that you were wearing while your ear was infected.
Or you should throw them out if you're that anxious.

You can go to a piercing store and buy some solutions for yours ears. And then clean it about 2-3 times a day, and everytime you clean it, be sure to spin your earrings so the solution can get into your earholes.

i second the sea salt!
the sea salt will encourage your skins natural healing processes.
don't use any form of rubbing alcohol, it'll just make it worse!

o_O my mom went to the pharmacist for something and on the way, she asked the pharmacist person. and the person had her buy hydrogen peroxide and a "triple antibiotic ointment" after she asked specifically what to do for infected ears.

and when you say solutions, is the kind that they give you at the beginning when you get your ears pierced what you mean? like i got my ears pierced at Claire's and they gave me a bottle of stuff to use.

and where do you get sea salt?

you can buy seasalt at any supermarket. just mix it with water and put it on your ears.
it works wonders.. because with piercings, if you add any sort of harsh chemical or anti-biotic ointment, it could make it worse and damage the healing process. if you do use anything, try and dilute it as much as possible.

antibacterial and salt solution works,
take out the back stud to clean it daily with q-tip.
don't scratch and play around with it when it's itchy.

don't remove the piercing either, keep it on to drain the pus.
