the only thing i can think of is to get better fitting shoes
but to help with the pain use mole skin!
my friend gave it to me to use on my blister that i got on my heels from cross country
and its this foam thing and you cut out a donut shape so your blister goes inside the center hole
so your shoe doesnt rub against it

^ poking it leaves a scar.
use hot water towel and massage it whenever possible,
don't walk and wear tight shoes for that period.

I believe Band-aid sells a blister block. It's like a roll-on stick you apply before you wear shoes (or whatever) to avoid blisters. I'm not sure how well it works though.
I usually just leave my blisters alone and let it heal naturally. Occasionally I'll wait until it dries out a little and pop it with a needle. You just have to make sure you keep it clean and put antibacterial medicine on it.

^i have blister block, works very well...i never get blisters but i do have to reapply a few times...
...it still gets sore but prevents the blisters (does it's job).
best way to comfortably avoid blisters is to put a bandaid where you would normally get them (in this case, your pinkie toe).
