and some of my friends are telling me to stop doing that cause they say it doesn't do anything at all..
But then I tell my coach that I do crunches and she said that its good.
So what are your opinions on doing crunches?
I don't think they do nothing at all, I'm sure they do something....but I'm not sure what to think :/

They're definitely not useless. Thousands of boxers do crunches as part of their daily regimen. These are some of the fittest individuals in the world - they've gotta be onto something.
And yes, I do them too - along with a slew of other vomit-inducing ab workouts all chained together for maximum cruelty. The core is just THAT important in all-around fitness.

Yeupp, I know the tummy is super important. I've been doing gymnastics for 9 years [still not great at it, haha xD] and nothing can be done without a strong stomach. But thats why my friends are saying to stop because they tell me since I'm practicing a lot, the crunches aren't going to do anything for me, but I still want to kind of argue against that...

You just need to give it time. Why do you think guys die doing it? XD
Well not literally 'die', but you get what I'm saying.

I'm on the track and field team so we do like 6000 crunches a day, everyday.
I still have a muffin top.
But at the back of the fridge, I've got a nice rock hard 6-pack.

A better way to do it is to lift your legs up ; BoA does this and seems like it's working for her (but of course she does other exercise)
____ se7en years, still going.

you can't do spot exercises, you kind of have to exercise your whole body.
try adding atleast 4 or 5 cardio sessions a week, combined with your crunches and you'll definitely start noticing more of a difference!
