Alright, long story short.
My girl's b-day is coming up, November 17th. She's not interested in iPods, handbags, jewelry or the Nintendo DS. My last gf was totally into handbags which was nice because she was easy to shop for. Anyhow, the new girl in my life is interested in books. More specifically, Chinese books. Being the ABC (American Born Chinese) guy that I am (I speak Cantonese, I just don't read or write it) I have no idea where to look.
You see, the new girl in my life is Taiwanese, born and raised there, moved here to the states a couple of years ago for school. Her mom recently bought her a new bookshelf from Ikea and its looking a bit empty. She's quite an avid reader and fond of all sorts of books. I've already picked out a couple of books by American authors, however, I want to mix it up a bit and pick up a few Chinese books for her. However, I haven't the slightest idea where to start. So far I've ran through a couple of books from YesAsia.com from the Top Seller List, but these books I've choosen are based off of their covers. "Oh look, colorful flowery cover, must be good, *click click* ADD TO SHOPPING CART." For all I know, I could've choosen a book about cannibalism (she's a vegetarian BTW).
ANYHOW, someone HELP ME.
Recommend me something!
