I need some advice on writing my personal statement. I'm not exactly sure how to structure my essay, as well as how to start my essay. I wrote a bunch of stuff already, but it's disorganized, and i'm not sure I have an intro. What are some tips on what to do/what not to do for intros? Any advice is welcome. (:

omg. i just wrote this really descriptive response.... but omg it got deleted
so let me try to put what i just said in a nutshell

in a perosnal statement you're really open to write about pretty much anything.
one event in your life, your life in general, few events, your personality, your talents, you experiences, your ambitions etc etc etc blah blah blah

my teacher told me when i was writing my college app essays to make my essay stand out in my personal statement
the board is reading tons and tons of papers and if it's bland, they're first off not going to be very interested and they're also not going to remember it for even one second

and that personally inspired me to write my essay
... cept ierno if that helped you at all lol

to give u an idea of how i did my essay..
i wrote about...
balloons
... literally

i tied in the effect of balloons flying out of my hands and into the sky with my life and how i grew into the young adult i am today.
yeah wack, but it got me into my college ;p


as far as organization goes
try brainstorming
and perhaps writing a web or outline of your essay before stepping into writing the essay will make the organization part easier ??
