Eating Habits Of The Skinny

Diets don't work, you have to change your lifestyle habits all together
So while you're doing that to lose weight and be healthy,
you might as well pick up some habits of those naturally skinny
yeah-those annoying people who can eat five times as much as you
and not gain .00001 of a pound.
I'm not saying changing your lifestyle can make you like that
since everyone has different body types
but you can try to be close to that ^^
I'll list a few but everyone should add things they've noticed
about the naturally skinny people around them
so anyone can look through this thread and try to add these habits to their life.

Naturally skinny people....
~Eat half the portion they are given
~Do excercise when they feel like they have eaten too much
~When they're full, they're full and stop eating
~Eat off of small plates
~Have desserts but really small portions
~Instead of taking the whole bag of chips with them, they pour a little into a bowl
~Eat very slowly
~Eat little meals throughout the day
~Don't stay still-move around a lot, like talking on the phone and walking around


*These are some things I've noticed about the naturally thin people around me
so if you're one of those people and see some stuff that you don't do-know that
this is in general smile.gif

I can't sit down and talk on the phone. It feels weird, so I naturally do that little

i eat craploads, just don't eat any processed foods and really like exercising (lifting weights AND cardio). i get to eat ice cream and stuff like that all the time, and i look like a victoria's secret model. the only thing you need to do is just stop eating artificial things and get your butt moving!

Wow, I was thinking that the list you would give would be like so obvious, like eat healthy and work out and blablabla...
And since I have always been too skinny, I was ready to read it and then ignore it.

But then I actually read the list you gave

I was so surprised, since I didn't really noticed my own habits. lol

I eat whatever I want, but I make sure to burn the energy off with exercise.

It's not just about your eating habits, but also EXERCISE!!

A lot of skinny people I know eat crap food and don't exercise
but they just have different eating habits so that's what I was trying to get across ^^
For the not staying still fact on my list-that's not really exercise it's just...not staying still haha
My mom is soooo skinny (she's Korean) and she eats ice cream every night and
has never gone to a gym but she's always moving. She's a clean freak so she's constantly cleaning
and she can never sit down and watch an entire movie cuz she's always getting up and doing something!

What? No. I eat a hell of a lot of junk and I barely exercise. I also finish my dinner in around 20 minutes. I buy 3 cookies from Subway, eat them all in one sitting (that's a lot of cookie.), drink lots of soda, and eat big meals off of big plates.

Granted, I'm probably not skinny to you, but for a Black girl, I am.

I wonder if genetics play a role as well? Naturally skinny parents = naturally skinny children? o_o?

But yeah, most of that list applies to my skinny cousins. I eat an extremely large amount of food everyday throughout the day, I gain 5~ or so pounds and then the next day I find that those 5 pounds are gone =/ It sucks.

The only thing that applies to me is the exercise.

- I eat ALL sorts of food. (I just don't limit myself to one sort of healthy and/or unhealthy stuff - although I eat a lot more spices and spicy food than the average person lol)
- I unfortunately eat a lot of ice cream as well.
- I dance once a week. (At the moment I'm taking bellydancing, bellydancing is a good way to tone your muscles plus flat stomach! This type of dance isolates muscles we barely use - mostly in the hip/thighs area so... Anyways I think I'm taking another type next semester mwha)
- The choice of taking an escalator or the stairs, I take the stairs
- I walk whenever I can

None of those things apply to me except for exercising...I eat tons of junk food, I think have similar eating habits with cyberfruit. I also love Subway cookies, and eat 3-4 in one sitting. I've tried to cut junk food out a few times, but failed to, lol. I think what may help is to eat dinner earlier at night. I don't exercise very much, just occasional walks 3-4 times a week for about 40-50 minutes, since I don't have the time to go to the gym. But being naturally skinny is largely due to genetics.

Yeah, I do believe that genetics do play a role, but not the whole picture.
For me, I eat a lot a lot a lot
and my top half of my body
will not get fatter, it's naturally skinny (my parents are pretty skinny too)
but then my bottom and legs are a bit bigger
because my mother is like that sleep.gif
when I gain weight, it seems like that is the only area of my body
that the fat goes to o_______o

Moving around a lot is good.
Get into the habit of, taking that extra step to do something.
Don't think a way out of getting out of your seat.
If you need to sharpen your pencil, walk across the room and sharpen it smile.gif
Take the stairs.
Be active.

The "I'm full" advice is good too.
When you're full, you know you're satisfied.
then STOP, yes you are capable of finishing
the last slice of pizza, but no you will not
because you don't need it.

As for the bag of chips,
I just stay away from them in general.
And desserts,
I guess it's easier for me
because I don't enjoy sweet things.
Fruit is the best dessert!
But never at night, ..

Eat half the portion.
I don't like this one. I think that you should
just start off with smaller portions..
because if you eat half of it, you're bound to
be tempted to finish the other half.
Plus, what a waste of food! laugh.gif
So begin with a smaller amount!

Eat Slowly.
This one is especially hard for me--
I love food!
And when i'm hungry, I eat SOO much
and SOO fast hahahha,
the trick- don't concentrate on your food
and what you're eating too much! TALK
with the people around you, take your time

It really depends on the person
I'm really skinny and I pretty much do nothing to stay skinny
I eat a lot, don't exercise at all but yet so skinny

I don't really think it's the "eating habit"
Those people may be trying to become skinny

Heck I have trouble gaining weight ..
But I have a fast metabolism

those three points are awful advice, imo... restricting and compensating are unhealthy habits to develop.
