okay, so i'm retaking this accounting class that i didn't pass during the summer quarter. while the teacher i have now for the class is different, the assignments we have are similar to the work i did in the last class. there's an assignment where i have to write 2 papers about two wall street journal articles but i still have the old ones i wrote in the summer quarter. the question i have(as ridiculous as it sounds) is if it counts as plagiarism of any sort if i reuse the same paper for this quarter. is it possible to get in trouble or get caught doing this? can you really get in trouble for reusing your OWN work?

You're recycling your work so it'd be considered as a lower academic standard.

If you wish to use your own work, contact your professor first.

It counts as plagiarism, even though it's your own work.
IMO, it's a stupid rule, but whatever.

Did you submit it through turnitin.com?? because if you did, they may still have your records on there and the professor may be suspicious. However, i don't see anything wrong with re-using your own work.

i don't see anything wrong with reusing your own work. It's still your work and it's relevant to the assignment. It'd be like doing the same assignment twice. But yea, check with your prof just in case there's some weird rule.

I'd ask the professor before trying to reuse it. Some profs might fail you for doing it, others might be ok, although they may want you to expand it or include some new ground in it.

You may have heard the expression "It's easier to get forgiveness than permission", but not on something like this. Ask first!

you kinda cheating yourself out of
doing two new articles that you can learn about.

i would think that since it's your own work,
then you can use it.

but since you've already turned it in once,
i think it's really unethical for you to cheat yourself.

unless you like cheating yourself.

but.
work is always good.
it expands the mind.

plus, being a student, you should expect the work.
and being a student who failed before, you'll have to do it again.
i failed english once. i hated it. but i did it again and i passed.

you can do it. do cut yourself short.

GOOD LUCK!
take care.

I have a professor this semester who says that students are the only customers satisifed with getting less than what they paid for. It's so true!

Yeah. Contact your professor first. Because most of my professors were like "Yeah, that's plagiarism; just ask me if you want to use it." And... yeah. Good luck!

That's so true. I never thought of it that way... especially considering how much a class costs for a semester. Geez.

meh, i'll just redo it i guess. it just seems like a bad thing to ask a professor. better safe than sorry. and yeah, i don't get to cheat myself lol.

i already got accused of another plagiarism incident last year(which i also posted about here). i don't need it to possibly happen again.
