i thought it goes by how many years of math you take, not by what class.
at my school you aren't allowed to take stats unless you take calc first. :x

by the way, this should go in pre-college subforum.

Technically, as long as you have the three years required and passed with a C, you have the math requirement down. But if you get a F and maybe a D, the school can withdraw their acceptance. You just need to have algebra and geometry down at least. But most people who apply to UCs are at pre-calculus or higher because it's so competitive. Plus, it places you in a harder position if you're at a lower math level but that depends on your major I think.

I would say, trig is supposed to be easier than stats. Or, I don't know anyone who has ever taken stats before trig. And at my school, only students who get an A in trig get into stats. Plus, the school year is already 1/4 of the way through. You would have already learned a lot in stats by then I think. If you want to save your chances of getting into a UC, I would say drop trig. But that's risky too especially since it's only trig. It depends on which UC you want to go to, but I know people who only had three years too. But basically, the whole application and acceptance process is by chance. Anyone can get into anywhere as long as they satisfy their requirements.

The required math I believe is up to Algebra 2..which I'm guessing for you is the algebra intermediate?

and for yoru counselor problem
in my school you don't always have to talk to YOUR counselor
go get another friend who have different counselor and make them introduce you to them then talk to them about your problems/questions

one of the things i hate about oakland schools: retarded levels of math that shouldn't even matter.

seriously, you are fine!
intermediate algebra is technically algebra2 in any other school outside of oakland.
