Next time you’re done surfing at a remote beach (or trapped in a collapsing building after an earthquake) you’ll probably wish you had one of these to wash the sand (or brick dust) off - a portable, battery-powered shower.

The ¥3,780 ($33) shower comes from Coleman Japan and is capable of pumping out 20 liters of water using the power of four AA batteries alone.

Still, the 1-foot cubed package is pretty compact and - providing you can fill the collapsible water container in advance.

That's pretty awesome!
But I don't think 20 liters is enough for me. I probably use like 20032098439 gallons.

LOL

this is not new at all. Just because it comes from Japan doesn't mean anything.

portable showers have been around if you've ever went camping or spent time in the outdoors or went to an outdoor store.

they have ones you hang up on a tree and you just pull a cord and water comes down like a showerhead. and these even have a portable curtain to prevent others from seeing you.

gone are the days where you needed a friend to water you with a watering can

come to think of it, there's are higher capacity, battery-free, and cheaper alternative - the garden sprayer:

not so sure about flow rate though

Japanese people are so creative. I've seen one of their similar ideas, its an aluminum bag that warms the water up when you go play in the beach. And when you're done, you hang the bag at a higher place and the warm water flows down like a shower.

I would consider buying this if I was in japan >.<
