I was wondering what 1080p HDTV should I get on Black Friday that would be less than $1,500 because I don't know if my dad is going to buy one for me or not, so it can't be too expensive?! I was wondering about the wall mount for HDTV, so when you use the wall mount does it damage the wall? As in do you have to nail the wall in in order to use the mount?

I work in the computer department at Best Buy, but after work I sometimes go to watch movies on the TVs they display
I'm not sure about pricing of things yet for Black Friday, but Sony Bravias look so good, and Samsung too.
Remember when picking a TV that LCD looks better in lighted rooms, and Plasma looks better in darker rooms.

I got an HDTV Samsung 32" for $950.00 on sale at RC Willey. I love it.
As for the wall mount, yes you will have to put holes in your wall to do it. You also have to make sure your wall is good/thick enough to mount it. My sister just bought a house, and the previous owners "tried" to mount their t.v., but the wall sucked so it was really damaged.

Reality. It's so much more interesting than living happily ever after.

HDTV are really cheap nowadays
somewhere between 999-5000 haha.
i think a nice 30-60 inch tv can come anywhere from like 2000-4000
uhhh depends on where ur gonna put it.
living room? bedroom?
if ur gonna put it in ur bedroom a small 30 or so is sufficient.
and living room maybe a little bigger
42? 56?

My dilemma is that I want a 1080p HDTV, but I want it to be under $1,500! It's because I don't know if my dad would want to spend money on buying a tv!

Here's a huge thread about TV sales on Black Friday and they have a compiled list in one post.

From reviews and such: Samsung, Sony, LG, and Sharp seems to be the best, but they are expensive.

For whatever its worth, if you don't like what you see on black friday, wait. The prices will continue to go down I mean the people who they don't get during black friday will still want a TV so they will try to sell it for the christmas season.
Last year after xmas I bought my 32" HD for my room its a 1080i (was $600) im still curious about what type of warranty policy I have for it after costco changed their return/warranty policies because I got it before.
My dad wants to get a 42-46" HD for the living room and hes set on one from costco since they have a nice 90 day return and 2 year extended warranty. I think it makes it seem like a good deal because those extended warranties are quite expensive from bestbuy and stuff. Although im not quite sure what those would cover and all that.
I can tell you the 1080p magnavox costco has is not a good deal because I read some really bad things about magnavox in terms of reliability.
Other than that, good luck on your search
Oh yes wall mounts I haven't tried to mount mine up on the wall but generally they need 4 holes for bolts. I doubt the wall can sustain the weight unless you find the 2x4 studs in the wall to screw into. A 40" LCD weighs about 70lbs so if you do mount it up you would really want to make sure its secure
dont want it ripping out of the wall...
