In my english class im reading As I Lay Dying and we were discussing the meanings of the characters' name
And my chemistry teacher just got pregnant so we are always disscussing names
But also im always curious about the meaning behind the name, let me start off with mine...
My Name is Esther Eunbi
My korean name came first, Eunbi or 고은비
Eunbi(은비) literally means silver name, but in hanja(chinese characters) it means beautiful queen
Esther is from Queen Esther from the bible meaning star or morning star and my parents thought of that from my korean name, but it can also be the hebrew form of Ishtar, the goddess of love, war, and fertility
What does your name mean?
(If you dont want to provide your last name, you don't need to, its the internet!)
(You don't know, go here --> I want to know)
I Really LOVE my name, do you like your name?

Meaning: Bright, shining one
Origin: Greek
Pronunciation: (HEL un)
Form of: Helene
Also this is from the site I listed below the other site:
The girl's name Helen \he-len\ is pronounced HEL-en. It is of Greek origin, and its meaning is "sun ray; shining light". Mythology: the abduction of Zeus's mortal daughter, Helen of Troy, resulted in the Trojan War. Hers was "the face that launched a thousand ships". There was a Saint Helena, mother to Constantine the Great, whose purity allowed her to discover the True Cross.

Gender: Feminine
Usage: English, Italian, German
Pronounced: sa-BREEN-a (English), zahp-REE-nah (German) [key]
From the name of the Severn, a river in Wales, which was originally named Habren. In Celtic legend Sabrina was the name of a princess who was drowned in the Severn. Supposedly the river was named for her, but it is more likely that her name was actually derived from that of the river.
