Hello xD, I am currently in college bois-de-boulogne in a program called sciences, lettres, art it's a special program that permits the DEC owner to go in any university program. Needless to say, it is highly competitive. I believe my first semester is screwed already, the averages in my classes are very high and im always few points under. So my cote-r will be under 27, since having the average gives you a score of 27. And what frustrates me the most is that my grades are alot better than people doing regular health sciences program and they can easily have a score of 30+ because their averages are alot lower.
My friend in Marianopolis college lives a similar situation, she said her cegep is populated by chinese people and she finds it hard to compete since most of the people there already learnt the notions back in their country so most of the students there live very happily and does not study much (according to my friend, who paradoxally is chinese herself xD). She also said in her last math exam she scored a 98 and everyone had 100. xD
Also, in this kind of environnement, everyone wants to get in med faculty and you need an r-score of 35+ to enter medicine faculty in McGill.
Anyways! Have you lived a similar experience? How did you manage to adjust yourself to the situation? Did you have a change of mind and decided to head toward another faculty?
Share your stories! xD
[edit¸] I don't know if this should be classed in the college or pre-college section, since cegeps are in fact known as colleges here but are not exactly universities xD
