Its the larynx(voice box) and when people go through puberty it enlarges.
Guys just have a larger one then females.

you know i thought it was normal for a girl to have a little one then i ended up getting surgery cuz i noticed it was larger than most girls.. it ended up being extra tissue lol

cos my friends always makes fun of my 'adams apple' whenevr i swallow. its like REALLY visible. : O small thing poking out.
