Many different new phones are coming out now and all of them has some different big letters on the name.
Like U600 samsung, K8001 Sony Ericsson and also W but i'm sure there are more.
What do they really stand for?

Honestly, i think... NOTHING.
They just happen to use letters along with model numbers... probably?
Since when we speak of 'product' numbers they always use random letters + *insert set of numbers here*.
Anyways... yeah I guess... nothing.

Ya, basically the series for each model. Like the walkman and cybershot lines, also the N series from Nokia. It's also a way to distinguish them from each other.
