Okay, so I had an exam this Wednesday for my sociology class. For this test, we could use a one-sided note paper, so I stayed up all night on Tuesday to type my notes up. Then the next day, everyone came to class and was all ready for the test. We waited for the professor and 5 minutes passed by and she didn't show up, then 10 minutes passed by and she still wasn't there...so about 3-5 students got up and left (we could leave if the professor doesn't show up in 10 minutes)...then 15 minutes later...I decided to leave and walked out the door...then I saw my professor running down the hall with a bunch of students who went and looked for her in her office. So thank god, i was right in time. The reason why she forgot about us was because she thought it was Thursday instead of Wednesday!! LOL. I thought it was pretty hilarious. This is the first time that this ever happend to me. So yeah, she felt so bad that she gave us 5 extra credit points for the students who remained in the class. lucky me!!

Well then, the next day (Thursday)...I had a group presentation. The night before, my group and I met to practice our presentation. After the group meeting, we said that we were going to meet one another again before class starts at 8:00 am...so after the meeting I stayed at school until 1 am. I woke up at 6:00 am, only getting about 4 hours of sleep. I got to school and checked my email at around 7:15 am. Then, went to class. My partner was there and I told her to pull up her email so that we can get our powerpoint and when she did...my professor sent us an email saying that class was cancelled today!!! We were like, "what the hell!!...Yeppie!" so yeah, it was a last minute notification...but it would have been super nice if she notified us the night before. but oh well, my group is well prepared now. But damn, I wanted to get this presentation done and over with~

So yeah, those are my two stories.....share yours!

oh wow! I hate it when its sooo last minute. You're soo lucky for the first one! a minute later, and bam! no extra credit! those profs need to be on their game yo! especially for the super early classes! lol

Actually.. it's happened to me once last year. So, we only have biology labs once a week, and it's a 3-hour class each time.. so no one EVER misses that class, since it's soo damn important. So no matter how busy or tired or sleepy I was (lab is 7 AM).. I still have to drag my butt out of bed, drive half a freakin hour.. get stuck in some kind of morning traffic because the whole world always decides to leave their house for work at the same freakin time! Good thing its easy to find parking super early because not many people are on campus yet... Anyway.. yeah.. upon arriving to class, the professor (who was usually there before any students), was not present.. that's the first.. so everyone just walks around or sits and chats... 10 minutes go by... nothing.. no professor... (no one leaves yet because this class is so important, people could usually leave in 10 minutes like most universities).. 20 minutes... people start leaving... some people, being the GOOD students they are (not I) starts working on their work for other classes or stuff they need to finish.. So, sometime before the hour mark, not sure exactly when, I'm like.. screw this, I'm outta here (with a couple other people)..... anyway, NEXT WEEK.. we all came back, and the prof apologizes for not showing up to class because he got ill! (and supposedly he emailed everyone that same morning, but I sure as heck did not get that email.. and apparently no one else checked their email, that's why they showed up to class.) a couple people even said they stayed all 3 hours! Holy crap they're dedicated! I could have had like 5 hours more to sleep! geeeeeee! (my next class wasn't for a while)

sorry for my long story.. that's is why.. I hate early..LONGG classes. argh!

Several times, but what's worse is changing classrooms! Once my prof. decided to use a different computer lab, but he emailed us a few minutes before class, and left no notice in the original room. We didn't find out until his secretary happened to walk by. I've learned to check my email repeatedly before this class. Hah.

I had a class at 7am.
and he is very picky if people walk into his class late because when you open the door, it makes this REALLY loud noise.
Anyways three times this semester he didn't show up
and on top of that, on the first day of classes he told us that we must stay in the class even if he didn't show up for 15 minutes.
(in my school, if the professor doesn't come within 15 mins, you are obligated to leave)

Most of my professors don't have our Email addresses so it they decide not to show, oh well. Usually after about 15 minutes if they're nice they will call someone to go and put a sign on the door and tell us the class is canceled. My school isn't really digitally connected... its like if you want something done go in or maybe call because they ignore emails and grades are only posted online at the end.

my racial justice teacher is known to be late. the second day of class she came over 30 minutes late, and more than half the class (including me) left already. she said the reason was because she couldnt find a parking space. (we're in the city.) normally she comes like 10-15 min. late for every class. this is my first semester in college, but i know that shes is one of the worst teachers i'll ever have.

Oh god, that happened to me recently. ._.

It was our gender and society class and it was our last class for the day. since we have a 4 1/2 break (@.@ yeah i know.) we decided to go out of school and went to the mall. when we got back, we waited for the professor and after 30 minutes of waiting we dashed out of the class! XD but then, we could've stayed at the mall for a bit longer if she notified us that she won't be coming for that day, >_<;

and a whole lot of stories! my professors on our majors have that illness. ;_; lol

Yup. And I stayed for the whole time too. There was a note on the board saying she would be late but would be there so we all waited. After about half an hour people started leaving. In the end, there were still about 20 people who stayed and the prof. never showed up. Apparently, she had had some kind of family emergency.

The sad part is, about 20 students and I actually had nothing better to do than sit around and wait for her.

haha, the same thing happened to me about your first story laugh.gif .
Everyone's usually tired in the morning, even though this class starts @ 10am. Our professor is so freakin' goofy though. It's happened probably 3x now.
But the first time, when the first ten minutes passed, a couple ppl here and there left, and then after 15 minutes, the TA told us that we can leave after 5 minutes.
I half-wished that she wouldn't show up, but when everyone was getting ready to pack up their things, we heard heels running down the hall and she comes popping in the door yelling "Don't leave! Don't leave!" laugh.gif She's a funny gal. Then she told us, while catching her breath, that she would drag us back to class if she saw one of us leaving. laugh.gif Apparently, she overslept. Eh, we've all been guilty of that. sweatingbullets.gif

well a few weeks ago, i decided to go to class 1 hour early and saw a note that said class was cancelled. yeeeeaaah so i went home. next day i went to class someone told me that the class was NOT cancelled and that the teacher took off the note like 45 min before class started. omg.. only 5 out of 120 students saw the note that said class was cancelled. we went ask the teacher what we should do with our missing notes and our assignment that was given that dayand he told us that it wasn't his problem. uggggh

once, but it was a quiz section so i guess the professor didn't do anything wrong. but anyway the ta sent emails 4 days after the day of the class she missed. she said she was sick, so i couldn't say wth i waited 15 min for nothing but it would've been nice if she had notified us sooner

it happened to me a few times this semester. but in this school they dont send u emails or anything
u have to show up for class and there'll be a note on the door saying class is cancelled. one time there wasnt even a note and we all sat there for more than 20 min before someone put the sign on the door. sleep.gif;;

unfortunately
its usually the class in which i have 3 hour break in btween and its my last class. meaning i wait 3 hours go to class find out its cancelled realize i waited 3 hours for nothing and end up going home when i could have been ages ago.
