So, I'm thinking of getting my boyfriend a cf hood for his 06 350z. However, I don't know how much they are and where I could buy them at. hhaha. Also, i also heard of like cheaper "knockoff" carbon fiber hood. Are there any difference?
If you guys could let me know, that would be cool. =)

Cheap knockoff carbon fiber hoods are exactly what they are. Cheap. They're prone to discoloration after a short period of time.
that's with any cf hood. uv protection can only so long.
if the 350z has an aluminum hood, i really don't think there is a weight difference. if anything it's going to be minimal.
i believe knock-off cf is just something plastic imitating the look of cf and stick on, i'm guessing here.

Cheap knockoff hood = Aesthetics only. No weight savings, usually weigh more than oem, fragile and costs about $150-500.
Genuine HQ = Weight savings, strong and costs about $1000-3500.
I doubt your BF (like most other people) really has a use for an authentic DC hood... So just get him one based on your budget...
Used/Sale you can pick up Cwings, Seibon or VIS for as low as $150.
New Seibon you can get for around $350+
And if you semi-ballin First Moulding $1100+
Ballin ASM etc $3100+
Genuine HQ = Weight savings, strong and costs about $1000-3500.

buy your b/f some suspension pieces. not coil-overs or anything, but just the bits and pieces.

hit the nail right on the head. dry carbon is the real deal. all the other stuff is fiberglass/plastic with cf overlay - if you/your bf are set on getting the cf hood then just get a seibon or vis or something - but fitment will probably be bleh... imo you are better off getting some suspension mods or a plenum spacer.
