Baccano!

i doubt anyone's watching this but i'll make a topic just to see anyway. i've been kinda obsessed about this show lately. i think it's mainly the fact that the events in it are presented out of order like in haruhi, but times 10. we're talking 3 different timelines of events within every episode and it switches between them almost without warning. it keeps things fresh(albeit a bit confusing at times) and keeps throwing more mysteries at you, making you want to watch more. not to mention that it has a huge cast of characters(all who are awesome in their own way), a very interesting premise, and an awesome atmosphere. i always thought the prohibition/30's era was interesting. i'm not even done with the show yet, but i highly recommend it.
synopsis:
Baccano is Italian for noise, but Narita translates it as "stupid commotion." Each of the stories in the series involves several unrelated plots intersecting and crossing each other as events spiral farther and farther out of control. Immortal alchemists, mafia operated speakeasies, and many other elements of pulp fiction mashed together for a world straight out of the movies.
also, isaac and miria are the best.

^yup. i just finished it today too. pretty good overall although i think 1932 timeline was pretty pointless and boring.

I'm about to start on Baccano. To give it a shot.
I mentioned elsewhere that I did see one episode during the time this anime came out. But I didn't pay that much attention to it. Only saw a few minutes of that one episode. Aside from that I skimmed around.
Here I go. When I see a couple episodes or something I'll come back to talk about it.

My impression so far is that I find Baccano bland. I'm not feeling what this show gives out. Are what you see in the first 2,3, or 4 episodes a sign of things to come ahead?
Also, what are the OVA's?

^it's been awhile but i think i started enjoying it a lot more after those eps because things started to make sense. it should start to pick up. the OVAs just happen after the end of the series. they mostly involve another new ladd russo type of character.

I just finished this not too long ago! It was very good! Confusing at first, but once you get a hang of the constant switching time frame, it actually makes sense. The characters are awesome too! My favourites are Isaac and Miria!

Baccano! is one of my favorite animes, the story and characters are so deep, its very fun to watch. If you guys liked it watch Durarara, its by the same writer of Baccano and has alot of fun references to Baccano.
