i think i 'listen' to music.

when i say i 'listen' to music, i mean that uncontrollably, my attention is always focused on the music. but i don't mean the kind of 'focus' where i'm straining my ears to catch every word and trying to work out the meaning of the song - that's just unnatural. when you listen to music you should let your inhibitions loose i say, haha.

and umm, when an instrumental piece is good in a song it'll always grab my attention no matter what i'm doing.

but whenever i listen to music that's all i'm really doing even if i'm doing other things.

i acutally take time to listen to the lyrics that you can interpret in your own ways, like fall out boy's music, thats why i love them~

i actually listen to the music. since i date alot of guys who are in bands i can't just listen to the music, i have to like the beat and lyrics too.

I love listening to my songs. The lyrics are very interesting since I mostly listen to metal.

Other songs such as pop, rap, love songs are usually boring (generally).

Since I like to compose, I really listen to music and get the fell of it so that I can get ideas. Also, when I listen to a certain kind of song with a certain tone, I concentrate on it to get the feeling of it. When I listen to songs that contain REAL instruments, I always tend to put notice on the instrumental rather than the singer, haha. But also, listening to the lyrics and actually understanding them makes a song more meaningful too.

i think it's because i've been in band for so long that i don't have to actively "listen" for the instrumentals in a song anymore. you get so used to hearing brass, percussion, woodwinds everyday that it becomes innate. i'm a percussionist myself, and i always love it when i hear little xylophone parts in songs cause then i'm like, "yes, percussionists are awesome!!"

so do u actually take ur time to concentrate on a song sometimes? as in listening to the instrumentals, beat etc as well as the singing.. most ppl tend to just sit there and "hear" music. well i guess it depends on the song.. i dont like how most songs these days have repeating intrumentals done by computers... it really gets annoying after awhile. thats one reason i stick to classic rock/rock. im not saying one genre of music is better than another... but i do appreciate music that is actually manually played over computer genrated ones. (nvm my d12 banner in my sig btw haha)

...being the music freak that i actually am, i take my time and my mind to listen to the music... i really mean, THE MUSIC. yes, the beats, the notes, the lyrics. that is how i can distinguish which songs actually are good and which ones needs improvement when it comes to local music. but i can still argue with professionally made music too, like... james blunt needs better lyrics for "youre beautiful" and a better voice, lol.

Well I listen to the song for the first time. Then I usually hear the music when I'm multi-tasking. I tend to do that a lot.

I "hear" it first to check for beats. And if i accidently caught some cool phrases or the beats are really really good, then i will stop th music and "listen" to it all over. ^^

when i have music playing on the computer i don't listen. i just play it so it's not silent.
but when i listen to music at night to go to sleep, i LISTEN. i like listening to the vocals, not the lyrics. it's really soothing sometimes.
