Okay so my english teacher taught my class about sonnets today. it's a 14 line poem that's usually in iambic pentameter and strict rhyme scene. it's also divided into 3 quatrains x_x i really don't know how to do it. like, what words should be stressed and unstressed? :/ can anybody help me? ASAP pleasee. i need it by tonight x__x

I've been learning about sonnets and stuff ever since freshman year. Words should not be stressed, unless it is a single syllable word, or unless you can shorten a word into a syllable (i.e. never -> ne'er). An iamb is basically two syllables which the second syllable is stressed. Iambic pentameter is 5 sets of iambs. The rhyme scheme should be like this: abab cdcd efef gg.

Oh sonnets ! I remember when I did this, I managed to squeeze a few syllables in one line with my eng. teacher noticing

iambic pentameter means you stress the even syllables
someone correct me -0-; i need to look atm y notes
it took me like like 5 hrs to write a single sonnet haha
