im think about getting a new mp3 player since my nano is starting to choke on me and im stuck between these two. so i just need a little feedback.
so far i know that the samsung has a longer music playback time and its cheaper. and the itouch has shorter playbak time and is more expensive. but the itouch has wifi and youtube. the itouch also has the scratch free face and the samsung doesnt.
one of my main concerns is battery life. does the itouch really have the 22 hours of battery life or is it just their usual bs and it lasts more like 15 and does the wifi drain the battery alot faster? also reliability? apple products dont really have good reliability compared to other companies (ive had about 3 ipods in the past all recent during the time).
and does the wifi and youtube ever come in handy?
any other mp3 player recommendations will be helpful also ^^

I personally don't think WiFi or YouTube are even that necessary when all you're doing is listening to music. I don't think it's worth the extra money for those added features. I think the iTouch is way too expensive considering the amount of space you're getting

P2 if you don't care for Wifi or need 16GB's of space.
The P2 comes with a screen protector so scratch free?

the ipod touch comes close to almost a PDA. being a student, i find that i use the touch during class to lookup notes, check on my online schedule, etc. the ability to check email (after jailbreak) at school on the go (my school has fairly good wifi coverage), is also useful. the wifi feature, of course, drains battery a lot faster, so turning it off when you dont need it helps. and i think that 22h of music is with wifi off, and just constant play without playing around with it...so practically, you'd get fewer hours. and re: reliability, it will be reliable, since its flash based and not harddrive based like the previous ipods.

nevertheless if its flash or hardrive memory the ipod is still unreliable -.- my ipod still freezes, skips songs, buttons dont respond, glitches.

The main difference most people say is Bluetooth vs. Wifi.
I find bluetooth to me way more useful for me. In future firmware updates, you'll be able to use it with a phone and be able to transfer files from your computer, which is very handy. The OS is not smooth as Apple's, but it's still good nonetheless. Unless you think you're going to be using the wifi often, then the P2 is better is features.
