has anybody ever noticed that growing up, your hair was really silky and most of the time straight and for most asian girls, your hair stays like that when you growup. but in my case, my hair used to be really silky and straight and now its .. bleh. i don't even do anything damaging to my hair such as straightening or blowdrying and whatnot.
right now, my hair is very poofy and dry after i take a shower. and i have alot of those coarse swirly hairs.
is there anything you can do to help it? D:

The reason why your hair is not as nice as before is most likely because of the amount of damage you have done to it over the years...
Your hair is made of mostly proteins and it is not hard to denature them. You can harm your hair if you do not properly rinse the chemicals from the shampoo well. Washing your hair more than once (meaning that you apply shampoo more than one time after the first rinse) can also damage your hair because the second wash can strip your hair of nutrients. Bad products such as shampoos with a high pH, hair spray, dying products, etc. will most likely damage your hair. U.V. lights can also damage hair, so excessive tanning, sunlight, etc. can damage your hair. Washing your hair in hot water and denature proteins as well as well as using heated mechanical products such as straighteners or blow-dryers. Finally, a poor diet can also harm your hair. Maybe you are lacking in essential fatty acids or something, such as Omega-3 or Omega-6.
There may be other reasons as well, but I'm not a hair specialist or whatnot, so I wouldn't know.
If you hair is just really dry, it may be that you have a high pH shampoo so you can opt for one with a lower pH.
As a child, you have not been exposed to as many of these dangers, thus your hair was much healthier and shinier and whatnot.
Hope I helped ~ :]

Maybe it has to do with your diet. Cuz I remember when I was like 8, I was super hyper all the time and would rather play than eat. So when I was like 12, my hair started to get frizzy. Then I started to eat more protein and my hair got MUCH better. So basically if you eat healthy, your hair will grow healthy.
Try eating salmon, cuz it has lots of omega-3
And drink lots of water

straightener makes my hair look really nice but it can damage it too, blow drying gives you the 'Fro'

your hair changes as you grow up ya know, but if your hair is doing unusual things (esp. like mine) try switching shampoos or something, like obviously if you have dry hair, you should try some moisturizing shampoo or something [:

Your problem could be a lot of things.
For example: I'm deployed in Afghanistan and the water here has a high level of chlorine which destroys the pH level of my hair. I haven't had the chance to get a healthy trim in about 9 months. So the cruddy, split ends will continue migrating up north. Also the food here sucks so I'm not able to balance my nutrition and diet. I countered this with Omega-3 fish oil capsules. My hair is tied into a tight bun every day which breaks my hair's strength. The over-exposure of the bun made the ends of my hair drier than other parts of the hair.
Solution: Jojoba oil. After your hair is cleansed from shower and still wet, soak or infuse the tips of your hair strands. Once you have the ends covered, work your way up into the follicles of your scalp as you expend the oil on your hands. The great thing about jojoba oil is that it doesn't make your hair oily. Your skin and hair will drink it. Just don't use more than a quarter size. I have very long hair and I use a little over a dime's worth. the stuff is cheap. I purchased my order through vitacost.com.
I hope this helps yoU!
It took my hair about 3 weeks for improvement.

moisturizing shampooo i knowwww. i use a salon shampoo/conditioner and it helps a little.. but not much.
the thing is i had silky hair through like elementary and half of middle school, then after like 7th grade it just started to get blech.
so i dont know if the hair you have in middle school is still baby hair.
