Goldstriker International is going to release the world’s first platinum iPod Nano. Yes, the whole thing goes platinum, except the screen and clickwheel of course. The Platinum Nano is set to be released on the January 2008 for £399.95 ($807.50).

Would it scratch as easily as aluminum? because if so, this is VERY unappealing. I was so pissed when they released the new iPods came out because the aluminum backside came back. but anyway, this doesn't look half as expensive as it's worth x_X

i think platinum is pretty hard? iunno...gotta look it up on the periodic table, lol. but this looks pretty nice... rolleyes.gif if only i had more of an expendable income

but yeah, its weird how apple keeps going from metal backsiding (ipod mini) to chrome (nano 1g) to metal again (nano 2g) THEN chrome (nano3g). its like they cant make up their mind crazy.gif. i think that the reflective chrome backside looks really nice; nicer than the metal used on the mini and nano2g, but yeah, it does get scratched up really easily crazy.gif. i think next time, they should use the chrome, but maybe add a layer of translucent plastic overtop? so you can get the reflectiveness but without the crazy scratch magnet characteristic.
