It was announced today that CompUSA will be closing ALL stores. Not that they had much of a selection for enthusiasts (like myself) but occassionally if one needed something, it was a good place to get something quick. On the East Coast we don't have Frys (which I hear about all the time) so we're basically losing the only major chain computer store. Apparently they are going to have some massive sales coming up this holiday season to liquidate their stock~ Hopefully they will have some good items to pick up for dirt cheap prices~

I remember a while back, goodguys was bought out and eaten up by compusa, closing all of their stores. Now I guess its compusa's turn.

Just like what I did at the goodguys closing sale, i'm going take full advantage of it and get whatever I can.

CompUSA's are already basically extinct on the west coast. They closed their doors like a year ago, looks like they couldn't stay afloat.

yea I remember trying to find the compusa that was here in NYC, but the one in Queens was replaced by a furniture store.

i'll probably go to the big one in manhattan for the sale. hopefully they got some 4gb pro duos for sale haha

I'm not really that surprised. Back when I lived in Cali, I used to go to CompUsa when I needed some specialty computer items. But the store was always kind of depressing, staff non-existent and I rarely found great deals shopping there.

It has already started. They are starting low at 10-20% percent off items. Every week, they will increase the sale percentage.

I'm going to check out to see if they have any of the Nokia N95-3 left. If so, then I'm gonna hope it'll still be there when everything is around 40% off.

The stock on their website is like a graveyard. Everything is practically gone. My guess is they're going to liquidate their store stock asap (not even worth the rent and bills to keep them open). Their biggest blunder was not keeping up vigorously with online sales and keeping prices competitive.

when i saw one COMPUSA shop closing in Arizona 5 months ago it was the most depressing thing i've ever seen. Clearance sale and all.. I feel sad for them. But then there's still BestBuy etc.
