When you say "expire" you meant the download timed out? If so it's sometimes a server issue and sometimes an unstable connection. But in your particular case it seems to be the software froze up. I know in IE when you downloaded to another partition it would save it into C: first then move it which always caused some problems (particularly when it was a large file) but I don't think Mozilla is like that. Maybe try closing the browser and starting it up again?

When you say "it" what software are you talking about?
If you want a download manager, might I suggest "Free Download Manager" or "Orbit'. I recently switched to those 2 from FlashGet (which I heard connects to suspicious IPs but ...). If you are using FireFox, FlashGot will be pretty useful.

Internet Download Manager is not freeware. You were probably using the trial, either pay for the software or un-install and try something else. The 2 I mentioned are all freeware and have been pretty good so far. By the way, I couldn't find any website by the name of freedownload.org perhaps you made a typo?

You can get the software at download.com however please note that some shareware when expire and even uninstall left some 'trace' behind in your PC which disable you to use it again even when you reinstall. You just have to pay for it.
