A poll is pretty useless because the voters have their own favorite colors.

My favorite color is red and lavender, but do your parents like those colors too?

why don't you just observe your parents, pay attention to the color that the clothes that they most often wear, the color of the tie or shirt or sweater, anything that your dad/mom always wears, the color of your mom's favorite handbag, etc

personally i'd get my dad gray or blue, the safest colors for guys.
and get my mom the pink one, since I know she likes wearing pink.

I think it depends on what your parents prefer, but IMO I agree with trishaa01. I think silver is the one that is the safest unless your parents happen to dislike silver.

Maybe you can print out those ipod colors and show them it and ask them which they like better?

I don't mean to be rude, but I think it's pretty useless to ask us what colors we'd get our parents, because well, they're OUR parents. anyway, I chose light green for my mom because she likes that color. I chose silver for my dad because all the other colors are too bold considering the clothes he wears and whatnot.
