I haven't tried but I've read a bit on it and the reviews.
The plan that comes with the pill recommends you to eat only 15g of fat a meal. The pill blocks about 25% of the fat. So if you do the math, 3 meals a day at 15g per meal = 11.25 grams of fat block x 9calories/gram = a whopping 101 calories a day ! And if you go over 15g fat/meal then I read there are severe consequences (or so I've read). Since 1 pound of fat is 3500 calories, the pill would help lose 1 pound of fat in about 35 days. So in general it's really not worth it.
I've read that some may use the pill as "built in willpower" because the thought of s**tting themselves for cheating(going over 15g/meal) is more than enough to stay on the diet - lol.
