I want to get a degree in foreign languages (korean) and I don't know of any schools that offer good language training.
Does anyone know of any and if you do, please point me in the right direction!
Help is appreciated. Thank you!

I don't know too much about Korean majors and minors, or anything about Korean itself, but I highly suggest you ask Alexander Arguelles. He's a university professor (with degrees from Columbia and Unversity of Chicago) and can give you ample help with Korean and where best to study it. Whether it be in Korea or in the US. He himself is fluent in Korean also (learned from scratch) and 25 other languages. I'd consider him highly credible.
You can either PM him or post in his thread. He only answers on Sunday so it might be a couple of days until you get an answer. It's worth the wait though. Just remember to use a high prose of English should you post a thread. The members are really picky about that stuff. Sorry I couldn't be of any more help.

I know UCLA has a Korean Major program. I know a couple in it and they like it but they suggest that you pick a second major or minor.

i heard that there aren't many universities in the US that have korean, let alone korean studies programs.
the universities that have korean studies programs are:
university of hawaii
university of michigan
ucla
harvard (i think)
michigan state university (i think)
one of the big problems with studying korean at any of these universities is the large number of korean-americans who are taking korean to get an easy A.
that means that the study isn't tailored towards total beginners, but people with some speaking background. usually the first year or first year first semester korean language classes are divided into heritage/non-heritage speakers. after that, everyone is together.
the teachers are trying to work on ways to attract more non-heritage speakers to korean, but i think for the most part korean language study is supported by people who already speak korean. you can and will learn korean if you put the time and effort into it.
and there are probably other universities that probably offer korean studies majors, i just don't know which ones they are...same with language study.

i write an important thing, and do not let's finish. a way of writing for freedom.
