Don't be deceived, there isn't all that much photoshop involved; this is simply how HDR shots look. Here is the original shot:

The only blatant changes were the antenna, stop-sign, and watermark. Everything else was just color+contrast adjustment. :\

Word. Driving through an empty mall at 1 in the morning was eerie as hell, especially with all the parking lot lights casting crazy light...

That looks surreal. Can you give me a list of all the equipment you used to shoot it? And how much does all of it cost?

Nikon D70s + 18-70mm f/3.5 kit lens: my camera is kinda old, and has been discontinued by Nikon. I've seen this combo going for around $500 on craigslist.

Tripod: I've got some cheap-o tripod, they can be found for < $50 easily.

ML-L3 wireless remote: $13

That's pretty much it. Oh, and I guess you might need a CF card for memory... Beware though, if you're looking to get into photography, just realize it's an expensive hobby (though probably less so than modding cars).

Yeah, when I was making the thread I was debating what to title it. Soompi always reformats my acronyms from GTI to Gti, and HDR to Hdr... which I HATE. I didn't feel like thinking about it too hard, so I just typed out the alphabet, rofl. The second time around, I just spelled out all the acronyms. Auto-format, suck on THAT.

I go to school @ UMW in Fredericksburg, but I'm home in NoVA now for break. :]

I kinda wish I took some non-car shots of Central Park covered in fog. Crajeeee

How do I use this, "HDR?"

I don't have any experience using pro-stuff like D2's, but I think that for setup shots like this, the camera doesn't really matter much. The D2 is handy for stuff like events and sports, where you need high fps, good autofocus, and good low-light performance... but when you've got time to setup you can take pretty good stuff w/ point-and-shoots even.

And I hate to refer someone to google, but there really is a ton of information out there about HDR-imaging. Just google 'HDR tutorial' and read up on some of the different methods. It's all quite simple, really. :P
