was that broken racquet the result of a heavy smash or rage?<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

you know, there's a big difference between a bubble's and a balloon's pop. I really can't find a better word (but for smashes, i can't find a word, period. It's kind of a whoosh going into something that sounds like a cross between a smack and a pop except louder).
Plastic birds are more durable (don't get 'killed' as fast), but feathers are easier to manipulate, and therefore if someone smashes using the same strength on both types, and they both hit somebody, the feathers will hurt more. Also, few people can do the same tricks on plastics as they can do on feathers due to the difference in quality. Bmt players can be little sadistic... it's not illegal to aim for the eyes ("oops, I missed", anyone?)
and shuttlecocks are called birds. once upon a time, battledore and shuttlecock was too troublesome to pronounce, so badminton was born. not long after that, people began to refer to their projectiles fondly as "birdies"...

The Yonex NanoSpeed 9000 in that photo costs some 250 USD and the owner is a college student. It's not like s/he's going to step through the racket head because of a temper tantrum. I guess s/he just likes it strung really high, and instead of just snapping the strings, s/he broke the frame, too.

Perhaps the girliest, almost all rhythmic gymnasts are female, but the wimpiest? I disagree.

Elite rhythmic gymnasts train for up to 10 hours a day, and if you've ever seen a professional rhythmic gymnast up close you would be surprised by how cut and defined they are and how much strident muscle they're able to put on their slight frames.

All of that hard work is so they can do stuff like this:

I agree with Eugene Rhythmic isnt wimpy.wimpy means weak and ineffectual well for your information this sport in not for wimpies this sports requires a lot strength and flexiblity with the combination of grace and elegance that makes it the most beautiful sport.Girls start at the age of 4-8 yrs. old so that theyre flexibility can be maintained when they grow up sometimes they also deal with emotional problems due to stress and trainings weak???I guess that you know nothing in this sport.

I would have to say... WNBA, cause it is a girl sport.
There aren't really any GIRL sports, I mean everyone can play them.
And when you love it, you wouldn't consider it girly.
I used to think volleyball was only a girl's thing but then I realized... guys can have a lot of passion about it too.

Back in High School, I was missing some P.E. Credits and to make up for them I had to join some sort of sports team, so my friend Britney said I should join the badminton team because they needed players. Keep in mind, i'm 6'4, and at the time was very athletic from playing basketball, and I was working my butt off playing doubles and singles badminton. I can no doubt say badminton is not a wimpy sport.

Now as for what I think the wimpiest sport it.....

Croquet, hands down.

I don't find anything a wimpy sport, considering a lot of these sports have athletes that train for them hardcore.

you stay in the same place for badminton. there's occasional jumping, but you're only defending it because you play badminton.

no offense to golfers but i think it is golf. it makes alot of mind power but i think once u get your swing form down that is can be pretty easy.

u forget the fact that u have to walk the full 18 hole course in professional golf (or any other competitive club organized golf like HS or College), not to mention strength and conditioning to power your shots. Walking the whole distance for 18 hole is a PITA.

How so? Can you walk a long distance throughout the day, keep your mind in focus, and hit a good shot consistently? Do you also realize that golf tournaments take place over the course of several days? That means playing 18 hole every day for about 4 days while walking the whole distance.

I think a "wimpy" sport is any sport that has almost no chance to cause physical strain or harm to the athletes' body. So therefore, Golf would be up there, but you can't really complain about having shoulder problems from constant drives down a 18hole if you got gray hairs coming out of your ears...

So Tiger Woods' knee problem has nothing to do with golfing, ok...
