Laptop Is Dead

Okay, ill tell you water is bad.
Static > black is very bad.
My advice is take out the battery, unplug the power brick, if you have the screw drivers unscrew the panels off the bottom of the laptop (im assuming you have some easy to remove flaps) under those are like ram and hard drive, doesn't really matter you want it to be open to help it dry, leave the screen open and let it sit for a few DAYS.
With any luck it will come back to life.
Otherwise, there isn't much you can do... if its toast you can replace the motherboard (sometimes) but its usually a better choice to take it apart and sell the pieces on ebay (you get more than if you sold the whole thing as dead). Then spend about $500 on a Dell Vostro with spill resistant keyboard
(okay that was mean)
consider that a free evaluation that geeksquad would probably give

I didn't want to make a new thread so is it okay to ask a quick question here as well?
anyway, my problem is that my laptop refuses to hibernate or go on standby.
it just goes to the blue screen saying "preparing to hibernate"
it stayed like that overnight.
does anyone know how to fix this problem?
btw, I have a Sony Vaio laptop.
sorry for crashing your thread? >.<

none that i'm aware of.
i tried system restore but it didn't fix the problem.
maybe i should just take it back to the place where i got it.
i'm just scared that they might "fix" and keep it for a LONNNGGG time that i'm gonna die of waiting.

How much water did you spill in anyways? Just leave the screen open and let it sit...
With any luck it might come back to life. Its chances are lower because it was on, but like the circuits themselves don't mind water if they don't have electric flowing through them. You might have a little drop of water shorting out a few things on the board so it won't start right now but with any luck it might work again when it all dries out.
