I thought the preliminary cd for Carnegie Mellon was Dec.15, but really, it's Dec.1!

I'm freaking out b/c I need to find a pianist on Long Island, and I've googled it and I can't find any site that hosts something like that. I even went to Stony Brooks (a local college) site to look for possible accompanists and I didn't find anything. I know I'm stupid for waiting this long anyways, but I really thought I had another week >_< omg. if you know anything about finding an accompanist, please help me...

Do you take private lessons? If so, and your teacher performs, you could try to ask your teacher what accompanist he/she uses. Otherwise, try finding some piano teachers in your area (I'm assuming you need a piano accompanist).

^ Yes, I do need a pianist. I have a teacher but her regular accompanist is way too busy and she doesn't have another b/c she travels alot and the companies she travels with give her the accompianist.

Call up Julliard and Manhattan and ask if they have any undergrad students willing to accompany. Or even ask Julliard if they have any precollege program kids willing to accompany. Precollege has a different phone number, you can find it on their website.

Be ready to pay a lot of money.

But who's your usual accompanist for recitals? Is it the person your teacher uses that you talked about in your previous post?
