I can't seem to get any recommendations or info about microphones.
Can anybody recommend an average quality one meant for PC use?
And about webcams... is it true webcams can be used as microphones as well?

Thank you in advance!

Try logitech microphones, they are cheap and decent. Some webcams come with microphones but not all.

some average/good ones are Plantronics
Can't go wrong with them

i use the plantronic 450s for gaming in counterstrike source.
sound quality is pretty good, and other end receives well

pretty cheap too, around $20

Plantronics, yes yes ^^~
The one I use is a headset actually, and it's got a mic with a noise cancelling function thingy..
pretty good in my opinion :)
Jayness is needed.

i've always used plantronics
but they've also ALWAYS died on me after 1year
yet I always come back and buy them.

there's some new ones i saw at futureshop that I'm going to pick up this time.. for like 49.99CAD. used to always be 59.99 for the crap ones I bought (that were good, but just break after a year all the timel lol)

I just got my logitech this christmas.
I'd definitely recommend it! It's soooo clear and it has noise-cancelling features! XDDD
